P5hng Me A*wy
Linkin Park Lyrics

When I look into your eyes
There's nothing there to see
Nothing but my own mistakes
Staring back at me

Everything has to end, you'll soon find, we're outta time, left to watch it all unwhind
Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down
Everything has to end, you'll soon find, we're outta time, left to watch it all unwhind
Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down

I've lied
To you
This is the last smile
That I'll fake for the sake of being with you
(Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down)
(Everything has to end, you'll soon find, we're outta time, left to watch it all unwhind)
For sake of being with you
(Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down)
The sacrifice is never knowing

Why I stayed with you
Just push away
No matter what you see
You're still so blind to me

I've tried
Like you
To do everything you wanted to
This is the last time
I'll take the blame for the sake of being with you
(Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down)
The sacrifice of hiding in a lie
(Everything has to end, you'll soon find, we're outta time, left to watch it all unwind)
The sacrifice is never knowing

Why I stayed with you
Just push away
No matter what you see
You're still so blind to me

Reverse phsycology's failing miserably
It's so hard to be, left all alone
Telling you is the only chance for me
there's nothing left but, to turn and face you
When I look into your eyes, there's nothing there to see
Nothing but my own mistakes staring back at me
Asking why...
The sacrifice of hiding in a lie (why)
The sacrifice is never knowing

Why I stayed with you
Just push away
No matter what you see
You're still so blind to me
Why I stayed with you
Just push away

No matter what you see
You're still so blind to me

Overall Meaning

"P5hng Me A*wy" by Linkin Park is a song about the struggles of a failing relationship where the two people involved have grown apart from one another. The singer of the song is regretful and is self-reflective as he/she looks into the eyes of the other person and sees nothing but their own mistakes reflecting back. The lyrics indicate that they both know the relationship is coming to a close and they don't have much time left together. The song also explores the idea of sacrifice - of lying and pretending to be someone or something that they're not for the sake of the relationship.

In the chorus, the repeated lines "Everything has to end, you'll soon find, we're outta time, left to watch it all unwind, Everything falls apart, even the people who never frown eventually break down," emphasize the inevitability of the relationship coming to an end. The singer acknowledges that no matter how hard they try, the relationship is going to fall apart, and they can't stop it.

The verses reveal that the singer has been pretending to be someone they're not to keep the relationship alive, but now they can't do it anymore. The line "This is the last time, I'll take the blame for the sake of being with you" shows that they are done pretending, and they are willing to let the relationship end. The lines "The sacrifice of hiding in a lie, The sacrifice is never knowing why I stayed with you" indicate a sense of confusion and frustration with the relationship.

Overall, the song is heart-wrenching and emotional, conveying the struggle of letting go of a failing relationship, and realizing that it's time to move on.

@Knifymoloko

I remember going online as an 11 year old to the then linkin park official website and being captivated by the audio of this track. Reanimation was the catalyst for my musical taste today.

@4psilocybetribe20

@PrsnmanGaming

This is a grossly overlooked album. I'm not the biggest fan of remixes, but Reanimation is a perfect example of how to remix an album! This is also the first CD I've ever owned and these songs throw me so far back in time, it's unreal.
