Their only notable international hit, "Narcotic", was first released on a demo in 1996 and sold over 700.000 units when Virgin Records re-released it in 1998. Since then, Liquido hasn't been able to repeat this success, which led to a split from Virgin after two unsuccessful albums in 2004 and finally to the breakup of the band in 2009.
Tim Eiermann is known to be founding member of Death/Doom Metal act Pyogenesis, which released its first EP Ignis Creatio in 1992 through Osmose Productions. Wolle Maier also played in Pyogenesis.

Reaching for the scenes
Reminded by the songs that will never disappear
Random like the infants
Outdated like the old
Lying there in aimlessness listening to the cure
Doing some rehearsal
Exercising in the cold
For the six-string never rolled
Whistling at the girls
And saving for the fuel
Making plans and knock knock knock on wood
Play some rock
Play some rock
Please don't stop
Coming home coming home
Sentenced by our faults
We were to make in time
Pleasantly aware
Of our solitude in mind
Saved me from the boredom
Of what we disavowed
Encouraged by the sound
That was the sweetest one of all
Admiring your senses
Infected by your tongue
Defenseless I believed
That we'd face anything to come
You innocently told me
You'd catch me when I fall
And solemnly we'd knock knock knock on wood
Play some rock
Play some rock
Please don't stop
Coming home coming home
I'm not the only one
The Liquido song "Play Some Rock" is a nostalgic ode to the past, specifically to the memories of youth spent listening to music and dreaming big dreams. The first verse sets the scene by noting that the singer is "longing for the schoolyard" and "reaching for the scenes" of youth. The singer is reminded of those times by "the songs that will never disappear", songs that are timeless in their appeal and continue to be important to the singer even as they age. The verse also touches on the theme of outdatedness and being "random like the infants" or seemingly out of place in a world that is constantly evolving and moving forward.
The second verse delves deeper into these themes, noting that the singer and their friends spent time "doing some rehearsal" and "exercising in the cold" in order to pursue their dreams of music. The line "lowering the standards for the six-string never rolled" hints at the idea that the singer and their friends were not necessarily the most talented musicians, but they were passionate and determined to try anyway. The line "whistling at the girls and saving for the fuel" suggests that the singer and their friends were not completely consumed by their music dreams and still enjoyed typical teenage pursuits. The verse ends with the line "making plans and knock knock knock on wood", suggesting that despite the uncertainties of the future, the singer and their friends had hope and optimism that things would work out.
The chorus of the song simply repeats the phrase "play some rock" three times before adding "please don't stop" and "coming home coming home". This repetition reinforces the nostalgic longing for the past and the idea of returning to a simpler time. The final line, "I'm not the only one", suggests that the singer is not alone in their feelings and that there are others who share similar memories and longings.

I've been looking my entire childhood for the name and artist of this song ever since I last heard it. All I ever remembered were the piano and the children singing. I even went to ask people with the snippets I knew about the song. Nobody could help me. Today a rock station finally played this song again. Now a lifetime riddle has been solved. I did not expect it would be the same band which also composed 'Narcotic'. o.o
