What is funny is that usually, Ombra Mai Fu is sung by a countertenor, hence with a very high-pitch male voice. and Lisa sings it in a contralto range ! Since i bought The mirror Pool in 1995, I heard this piece performed in many versions by classical musicians... But this version is my top favourite. This performance send shivers down my spine every time... Lisa's voice is just coming from unearthly spheres... a masterpiece of technique and emotion.
