All The Way
Lisa Ono Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
It's no good unless she loves you - all the way
Happy to be near you
When you need someone to cheer you - all the way
Taller than the tallest tree is
That's how it's got to feel
Deeper than the deep blue sea is
That's how deep it goes - if its real
When somebody needs you
It's no good unless she needs you - all the way
Through the good or lean years
And for all the in between years - come what may
Who knows where the road will lead us
Only a fool would say
But if you'll let me love you
It's for sure I'm gonna love you - all the way all the way
At the heart of Lisa Ono’s “All The Way” is a simple message of love; it’s about the completeness and depths of a love that is experienced between two partners, that is all-encompassing and leaves no room for doubt or uncertainty. The song is a declaration of a deep and abiding love that is rooted in being loved “all the way” with every fibre of one’s being.
The first verse of the song speaks to the need for love to be complete and whole. The line “It's no good unless she loves you - all the way” highlights the importance of a deep connection in a relationship. A love that is not fully reciprocated cannot sustain a relationship. The message is further reinforced in the second verse as the lyrics touch on the need for a partner who supports you through tough times as well as good times.
The bridge of the song serves as a reminder of the uncertain nature of love. The lyrics ponder where the road of love might lead, but despite the ambiguity, the singer declares that she is willing to love “all the way, all the way”. This shows a deep commitment to the relationship, a willingness to see it through, no matter what life may throw their way.
Overall, the song is a beautiful tribute to the power of love when it is given and received with equal passion and commitment. It reminds us that love is a journey not a destination and that it must be nurtured and cared for to be sustained over time.
