Hoy
Lisandro Aristimuño Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
O ser un barco de papel molido.
Deberás sentir la misma sombra
Y correrás por todo aquel abismo
Para ver lo que se va
O quedarte en el lugar.
Y suena Buenos Aires.
The lyrics to Lisandro Aristimuño's song, "Hoy," are deep and thought-provoking. The song speaks of a person who has the ability to make noise and move around, or alternatively be as vulnerable as a crumpled paper boat. The person is encouraged to feel the same shadow, run over the same abyss, and either back away or move forward. The verses depict the image of a world that is slowly decaying as the apple rots, with the ambient sound of Buenos Aires. Then, the person is encouraged to let the wind take them away while they flap their arms, embrace time that is ever-unchanging, polish moons made of sand, and reign as the queen of spring once again. In the end, the person is called to seduce the path, and open their destiny in this moment.
The lyrics to "Hoy" are inspiring and have the potential to make you pause and contemplate your own existence. The song speaks of embracing vulnerability, taking risks, being unafraid of the unknown, and having the courage to step outside your comfort zone. The lyrics encourage the listener to embrace change, take a leap of faith, and discover what fate has in store for them.
