After a return to college to focus on her studies, Hesketh along with two of her fellow students formed the electronic/indie pop band Dead Disco in 2005. The band had limited releases of their four singles but due to increasingly different ideas about the band's musical direction, Hesketh left to pursue a solo career. Hesketh has cited as influences The Human League, Gary Numan, Kraftwerk, Pink Floyd, Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, and Jean-Michel Jarre.
Hesketh began writing her own songs and posting covers on the social networking sites such as YouTube and MySpace. After appearing on several shows including Later... with Jools Holland and Last Call with Carson Daly, Hesketh entered production on her debut album. With increasing media attention regarding her then-yet-to-be-released debut album, Hesketh topped the BBC Sound of 2009 poll and received a BRIT Critics Choice nomination. She has been linked to a wave of breakthrough female artists in their twenties playing 1980s-influenced music, including Lady Gaga, Ladyhawke, Florence and the Machine, and Elly Jackson of La Roux.
Her debut album, Hands, was released on 8 June 2009 on 679 Recordings and Atlantic Records to generally positive reviews. The album peaked at number five on the UK Albums Chart and at number twenty on the Irish Albums Chart. Hands included a collaboration with Phil Oakey from The Human League on the song "Symmetry". The first single off the album "New in Town" became a top twenty hit, while the next single "Remedy", produced by RedOne, reached the top ten. She has also released the EP Illuminations in the United States.
Little Boots' second album, Nocturnes, was released on 5 May 2013 on her own label On Repeat.

Stuck On Repeat
Little Boots Lyrics

And I just can't seem to break free
You've got me stuck on repeat
I can only move to the beat
And I don't remember how it started
And I don't know how to stop
But every time I reach the bottom
Every time I try, every time I try
Every time I try to break free
Then something comes along, something comes along
Something comes along to intervene
My heart's skipping, skipping
And I don't know why, I know every part
But every time I try, every time I try
Something comes and pulls me back to the start
You've got me stuck on repeat
And I just can't seem to break free
You've got me stuck on repeat
I can only move to the beat
And I don't remember how it started
And I don't know how to stop
But every time I reach the bottom
Something pulls me right back to the top 'cause
Every time I try, every time I try
Every time I try to break free
Then something comes along, something comes along
Something comes along to intervene
My heart's skipping, skipping
And I don't know why, I know every part
But every time I try, every time I try
Something comes and pulls me back to the start
And it's you who makes me move to the beat
And it's you that's got me stuck on repeat
Every time I try, every time I try
Every time I try to break free
Then something comes along, something comes along
Something comes along to intervene
My heart's skipping, skipping
And I don't know why, I know every part
But every time I try, every time I try
Something comes and pulls me back to the start
You've got me stuck
on repeat" is an expressive pop song by Little Boots, which presents the experience of being helplessly captivated by someone's love. The song paints a picture of a mechanical and repetitive nature of love and the powerful ways it can compel people to act against better judgment. The 'you' in the song that the singer sings about is also interpreted as some sort of force, personified or not, that has complete power over the 'I' in the song.
The chorus of "Stuck on Repeat" emphasizes the song's metaphorical connection to mechanics or emotional programming. It speaks of the way that the compulsion of love can render those involved in love helpless and at the mercy of its power. Every attempt to exit this insane cycle of emotions and behavior is met with yet another intervention that sets it off again.
Moreover, the opening lines of the song, "And I don't remember how it started, and I don't know how to stop" shows the lack of willpower in the singer to get out of this spiral. The singer is admitting that they've lost control of their mind and heart, and they don't know how to handle this situation. The lyrics imply the singer's frustration with their situation, as they try to leave but end up stuck in the same loop again, just like a broken record.

First heard this at Nocturnal festival, 2008. Feels like so long ago. "And I don't remember how it started, and I don't know how to stop, but every time I reach the bottom, something pulls me back up to the top cause......
Every time I try, every time I try, every time I try to break free, then something comes along, something comes along, something comes along to intervene. My heart is skipping, skipping, and I don't know why, I won't act the part, but every time every time I try, something pulls me back to the start."

So ahead of its time. God bless Little Boots.
@LTTPUK
In what way? Production values are pretty much what you'd expect of a 2007/2008 electro track, if not a bit old fashioned.
@GameFreak7744
Was a good time for electro though.
