Baby Face
Little Richard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Hmm, baby face
You've got the cutest little, hmm, baby face
There's not another who can take your place
Hmm, baby face, my poor heart is jumpin'
You sure have started somethin'

Hmm, baby face
I'm up in Heaven when I'm in your firm embrace
Hmm, I didn't need a shove
'Cause I fell in love with your pretty baby face

Hmm, baby face
You've got the cutest little, hmm baby face
There's not another who could take your place
Hmm, baby face, my poor heart is jumpin'
You sure have started somethin'

Hmm, baby face
I'm up in Heaven when I'm in your firm embrace
Hmm, I didn't need a shove
'Cause I fell in love with your pretty baby face

Hmm, baby face
You've got the cutest, hmm baby face
There's not another who could take your place
Hmm, baby face, my poor heart is jumpin'
You sure have started somethin'

Hmm, baby face
I'm up in Heaven when I'm in your calm embrace

Hmm, I didn't need a shove
'Cause I fell in love with your pretty baby face

"Baby Face" wow! Back in 1959, It hit the Pop charts in like a storm. It got to No.2 in, the then, "Top 20" chart list played ,Sunday night on radio Luxembourg. That was basically only time the pop charts got aired. Loved "Baby Face" back then and it still gives me a lift-- it has more "soul" in Richards rendition, different than his "Hard Rock" songs. Its a fantastic recording. Years ago on "Desert Island Discs", Ringo Starr chose Little Richards "Baby Face" as one of his top 10 all time favourites. Same here with me. 😘😘
