Good Golly Miss Molly
Little Richard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Good golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball
When you're rockin' and a-rollin', can't hear your momma call

From the early, early mornin' till the early, early night
When I caught Miss Molly rockin' at the house of blue light
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball
When you're rockin' and a-rollin', can't hear your momma call

Momma, poppa told me "son, you better watch your step"
If I knew poppa's momma's, have to watch my poppa myself
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball
When you're rockin' and a-rollin', can't hear your momma call

Good golly Miss Molly, sure like to ball
Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball.
When you're rockin' and a-rollin', can't hear your momma call

I am going to the corner, gonna buy a diamond ring
Would you pardon me, kiss me, ting-a-ling-a-ling?

Good golly, Miss Molly, sure like to ball
When you're rockin' and a-rollin', can't hear your momma call

In a year of loss for this nation, we lost an irreplaceable national treasure

Little Richard, passed away.

I was listening to him just last week-end because I needed a jolt of joy in an otherwise terrible week.

And he didn't disappoint.

A brilliant and innovative musician and an amazing showman.

He will never rest in peace as he had way too much fun rocking out.

And doing it in mascara, eyeline and style.

He will be missed.
Rock in Peace Little Richard

Best rock n roll song ever recorded. The intro is pure excitement and then the verses and hooks carry you off to the abyss. His vocals overwhelm you. His scream before the sax/piano solo is like total chaos. The beat, progression and melody of the song puts you in a trance like state.

This is picture perfect rock n roll music.

@quarkchild
