Lawdy Miss Claudy
Little Richard Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Well, lawdy, lawdy, lawdy Miss Clawdy
Girl, you sure look good to me
Well please don't excite me, baby
I know it can't be me
Well, I give you all my money
Yeah but you just won't treat me right
You like to ball every morning
Don't come home til late at night

I'm gonna tell, tell my mama
Girl I swear to God what you been doing to me
I'm gonna tell everybody that I'm down in misery

So bye, bye, bye, baby
Girl, I won't be comin' no more
Goodbye little darlin' down the road I'll go
So, bye, bye, bye baby

Girl, I won't be comin' no more
Goodbye little darlin' down the road I'll go

Overall Meaning

Little Richard's song "Lawdy Miss Clawdy" is a classic rock and roll tune with interesting lyrics that convey the heartache of a rejected lover. The singer starts off by admiring the titular Miss Clawdy's appearance but then laments that she doesn't seem interested in him despite his attempts to win her affection. He even hints at giving her all his money, but she still won't treat him right or come home early. The repeated "bye, bye, bye" throughout the song indicate that he's reached the end of his rope and has decided to leave her behind, no matter how much it hurts.

The lyrics in this song are straightforward and emphasize the singer's frustration and sadness. The repeated use of "lawdy, lawdy, lawdy" and "bye, bye, bye" give the song a catchy rhythm and allow the singer to express his emotions without being too wordy. The mention of telling his mother and everyone else about his misery shows that he is at a point where he needs to reach out to others for support.

It's hard for me to decide which version of Lawdy Miss Clawdy is my favourite . Elvis , Little Richard , The Beatles & many other forever shining stars managed to literally slay it & made this song their own .

I have made up my mind . Gonna cover this song very soon . Cannot wait 'cause it's quiet a challenge , the kind I love . Guess a song slayer is what I am or what I long to genuinely become .

Литтл Ричард исполняет эту композицию R&B-автора Ллойда Прайса как и положено КОРОЛЮ РОК-Н-РОЛЛА,,а Элвис Пресли-как замечательный исполнитель лирических песен.
