Shake A Hand
Little Richard Lyrics

Just leave it to me
Don't ever be ashamed
Just give me a chance
I'll take care of everything

Your troubles I'll share
Let me know and I'll be there
I'll take care of you
Anyplace and anywhere
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can

Be truthful to me
I'll be truthful to you
I'm in love with you so
Till I don't know what to do

So, let's call it a day
I said all I have to say
Except don't forget to pray
And shake a hand ev'ry day

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand, oh Lord
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can
One more time

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand if you can

Shake a hand, shake a hand
Shake a hand, shake a hand, oh Lord
Shake a hand, shake a hand

Shake the hand of the man. The truth behind Rock 'n' Roll. He's everywhere, for all time until time ends, if it ever can stop to lose him.

Laverne Baker, Elvis, and Patsy Cline all did a version of this song. All are amazing.

Cool!! Never heard this by Little Richard - it's Great! Elvis did this one a lot in the '70s.

Jim, I am 72 years old and 63 year or so ago, Little Richard came out with this song. It was one of his earlier ones. My older sister was kind of a freak for her age in the 50's and she loved black music. I used to go with her to a dry cleaners who also sold 45's and she would bring them home and we would dance like crazy fools. I was about 8-9 years and i still dance to this day.

He sure sang it with feeling. I have the single record on "Speciality Label.. When this covid 19 hit, I recall the lyrics-Shake a hand, when you can. Now with social distancing, at least this song offers awesome memories.
