@big buh And Rosetta Tharpe did it before them. She is the true founder of Rock n roll. Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash, Little Richard, Chuck Berry, Keith Richards, and Eric Clapton all cited her as an inspiration. Chuck Berry even said his entire career was “one long Sister Rosetta Tharpe impersonation.” Also, Elvis sent his men over to her show to mimic her guitar style. And the sad part is she never got any recognition. When she died, her grave stood unmarked for many years. She didn't get into the hall of fame until 2018. But at least she is there.

I am absolutely heartbroken on the passing of the true King of Rock 'N Roll, the one and only, Little Richard. A huge influence on me but also an unsung civil rights giant as during a time of great division in America and extreme racism towards the African American Black Community, Little Richard pioneered the way for a black man in elevating the Blues and Rock into the mainstream of White America but still loved performing to integrated crowds. His raw stage presence and energy, not to mention his vocal range, power and musicianship dwarved the likes of Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis. They all performed each others songs, as most Rock 'N Rollers did, but Little Richard stood head and shoulders above them all. May you Rest in Peace you absolute legend!

For me Richard was the greatest rock & roller ever. His stage shows were high octane and he never failed to entertain. I saw him a few times here in the UK, twice in the sixties. The last time I saw him was in 2005 and although he was not in the best of health he gave us 90 minutes of sheer enjoyment. i took my wife to see him as she had only heard his records and she was blown away. She went rushing down to the front, caught up in the frenzy. That was the last time we saw him in the UK. There is a book called The Life And Times Of Little Richard, The Quasar Of Rock and it is a superb read. I would recommend it. You will not be able to put it down

I saw Little Richard the same year as this performance. He was absolutely awesome ...in the true meaning of the word. It was the best gig I've ever been to. He was on the same bill as Chuck Berry and Fats Domino (at Sheffield Arena - England), both of whom I also love with a passion, but Little Richard blew them both off the stage. I was very funny too.

There will always be contenders and pretenders, Kings and Queens of all music genres, but there will never be another Little Richard! He was the original and greatest rock n roller in my opinion! I grew listening and dancing to his music. He inspired me to love R&B at a time when it wasn't socially acceptable to do so. I'm happy that he got the recognition that he deserved and hopefully inspire another generation to appreciate this kind of music. RIP Mr. Penniman.
