Shooting star with a razor blade
What you got is more than I can take
You've never touched the ground
And you can scream without making a sound
Your breath is like a flood, and I want to drown, yah
[Chorus]
'cause in another life I'd never let you down
Fall for a shooting star and it don't hang around, believe me
You're not inside my head
You're not inside my head
Under a sky gone grey
Your eyes so black that they take my breath away
We'll forsake tomorrow for today, yah
I don't care about happiness if it makes you feel alright
Close your eyes and bite your tongue and you'll get through the night
[Chorus}
Smile to myself and fade
A shooting star with a razor blade
What I got is more than you could ever take
La di da di la di da di da di da di da di 2x
Smile to yourself and fade, I said smile to yo'self and fade
You're not inside my head, just smile to yourself and fade
La di da di la di da di da di da di da di 2x
The lyrics of LiveonRelease's song "Inside My Head" paint a picture of a dark and tumultuous relationship. The singer addresses their tumultuous partner, comparing them to a shooting star with a razor blade, a beautiful but dangerous element. It's an intense and consuming relationship that the singer can't escape from. The partner's presence is all-encompassing, with their breath like a flood that the singer wants to drown in.
Despite all of this, the singer doesn't want to let their partner go. They imagine a life where they would never let their partner down and where they could be happy together. But ultimately, the singer knows that their partner is not inside their head. They can't control them or fully understand their thoughts and emotions. It's a relationship that's doomed to fail, but the singer can't help but keep getting sucked back in.
The lyrics of "Inside My Head" touch on the idea of the all-consuming nature of certain relationships. Even when you know deep down that a relationship is troubled or even toxic, it can be incredibly difficult to walk away. The singer longs for a different kind of life with their partner, but ultimately, they know that it's not possible.

What do you want from me?
Now you got me
Now my fingers bleed
Now they're staring at me
I'm a coward now
I hold my peace
Now you tie me up to your feather bed
And I twist and turn in a chinese burn
You won't let go
You won't let go
You're inside my head
Inside my head
What do you want from me?
Now you got me
Now my energy you suck from me
And I'm holding on for dear life
Quit smothering me
Quit laughing at me
I've got a disease
An English disease
It won't let go
It won't let go
You're inside my head
Inside my head
What did you put in that syringe?
Whatever you really said to him?
Is sitting there, inside of me
And you bother me
You possess me
You're there again
Ahead of me
And I won't let go
I won't let go
You're inside my head
Inside my head
Inside my head
Inside my head

I love their older music. Yes, the farther they have moved along, the more genius they have become. But this stuff, this song, is so raw, so purely awesome, one cant help but appreciate this over classics such as even karma police or there there.
@Itzsfo0
i love all their music, but i like this song the best song they've ever recorded in my opinion is: I Might Be Wrong (Amnesiac) but alot of their early material, while "raw" isnt always good...esp that first album, only Lurgee, Creep & Blowout do I enjoy (theres potential) but even after 100s of listens...it just seems so ...you know, young and "were still finding our way"
but I love the bends, and street spirit, iron lung among many others
