RAINBOW
Liz Huett Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

When I look at my life
Wanna see myself shine on the dance floor
But I won't get it right until I stop asking why
And just let it go
Sometimes I take a look at my life
I take a look at my life
And say oh, oh
Wanna get it, yeah
Gotta get it, don't need a pot of gold

Looking for the rainbow to break the storm inside of me
The rainbow to take the clouds that hide in me
All I want is someone to heal the heart of me
The rainbow, it could be the start of me

Yeah, I'm down on my luck
But I'm still looking up, got a way to go
Gotta follow my gut, can't get stuck in a rut
I've been there before
Right now there's a road up ahead
And it's dangerous, oh, oh
Fear's gone, it's my marathon
Maybe I'm getting close

Looking for the rainbow to break the storm inside of me
The rainbow to take the clouds that hide in me
All I want is someone to heal the heart of me
The rainbow, it could be the start of me

Looking for the rainbow
Everywhere that I go
Even in the shadows
I'm looking for the rainbow
When I'm at the end of my rope
There's a destiny
Though it's meant for me
If I let it be

Looking for the rainbow to break the storm inside of me
The rainbow to take the clouds that hide in me
All I want is someone to heal the heart of me
The rainbow, it could be the start of me

It could be the start of me
It could be the start of me

Overall Meaning

In Liz Huett's song Rainbow, the lyrics express the singer's desire to find happiness and success in life. She wants to shine on the dance floor, which might symbolize achieving her dreams, but there is something stopping her from doing so. The line "But I won't get it right until I stop asking why, And just let it go" could mean that she needs to stop overthinking and just let life happen. She realizes that she can't rely solely on material possessions, as shown by the line "Don't need a pot of gold". Instead, she is looking for something deeper that will heal her heart and start her on a new path in life.

Throughout the song, the rainbow is used as a symbol for hope and a new beginning. The singer is searching for the rainbow to break the storm inside of her and take away the clouds that hide her true self. She acknowledges that she has been down on her luck before but is determined to keep looking up and following her gut. The road ahead may be dangerous and uncertain, but she is no longer afraid. She believes that the rainbow could be the start of a new chapter in her life, if she allows it.

Overall, Rainbow is a hopeful and uplifting song that encourages listeners to keep searching for their own rainbows and to never give up on their dreams.
