Taste Of Honey
Lizz Wright Lyrics

Over icy seas
I'll take with me
The warmth
A taste of honey
A taste much sweeter
Than wine
I'll leave behind
My heart to wear
And may it ever
Remind you of
A taste of honey
A taste much sweeter
Than wine
I will return
I will return
I'll come back
For the honey
And you
He never came back
To his love so fair
And so she died
Dreaming of his kiss
His kiss was honey
A taste more bitter
Than wine
I will return
I'll come back
I'll come back
I will return
The lyrics to Lizz Wright's song A Taste of Honey describe a bittersweet love between two individuals who are separated by distance and time. The opening lines of the song set the scene for the listener by describing the cold winds blowing over icy seas. The singer of the song takes with her the warmth of their love and the memories they shared together. The chorus of the song is a sweet remembrance of their love, as the singer reflects on the taste of honey, which is much sweeter than wine. The taste of honey symbolizes the sweetness of their love and the memories they shared.
The second verse introduces a tragic element to the song, as it is revealed that the singer's lover never returned to her. The bitterness of this experience is captured in the line "his kiss was honey, a taste more bitter than wine." Despite this bitterness, however, the singer remains hopeful that she will be reunited with her lover someday. She declares that she will return to him, and the song fades out on this note of hope and longing. Overall, the lyrics of A Taste of Honey evoke a deeply romantic and melancholic mood, as they explore the themes of love, separation, and the passage of time.
