He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 3, 1986, to Robin Polite and Lloyd Polite Sr. His father died when he was at the age of two, and he moved with his mother and older sister Brandy to Atlanta, Georgia.
Lloyd was discovered by Joyce Irby in 1996 and at the age of 14 was in the pre-teen group N-Toon, alongside younger brother Chuckie. The group won Nickelodeon's cancelled show Double Dare 2000 against No Authority, and the group was signed to DreamWorks Records. Although two singles were released ("Ready" and "Shoulda Been My Girl"), their debut album Toon Time went unnoticed due to a lack of promotion from the label. The group eventually disbanded, and Lloyd began shopping around for a solo deal. He was soon signed to MCA Records with his first single to be "Young Girl". Unfortunately, as MCA Records dissolved into its parent company, Geffen Records, many of the artists on its roster were let go, including Lloyd. However, using "Young Girl" as a demo, he landed a new recording contract with Irv Gotti at The Inc./Def Jam Records.
"Southside", a duet with label mate Ashanti, became Lloyd's debut single and an R&B hit. The video was number one on BET's 106 & Park, where Lloyd and Ashanti performed the song live. The follow-up single was "Hey Young Girl", which wasn't as successful as "Southside". His childhood friend Ciara was in the video, and he is in the video of her hit "1, 2 Step". Both singles appeared on his 2004 debut album, titled Southside, which performed relatively poorly. A third single was never announced. After that, Lloyd appeared singing hooks on singles for label mate Ja Rule on "Caught Up" as well as on rapper Tango Redd's "Let's Cheat". He also made an appearance in R&B singer Sammie's video "You Should Be My Girl".
In 2006, a newly-recorded track titled "You" surfaced, featuring Lil Wayne (an alternate version featured Tango Redd). The single gained airplay on BET Late and it was #1 on 106 & Park. Lloyd's second studio album, titled Street Love, was released on March 13, 2007. The second single "Get It Shawty" was also very successful, reaching the top twenty on the pop charts. By the time the third single "Player's Prayer" was released, interest in the album had diminished. and with lack of promotion the song proved to be unsuccessful.
Lloyd's third album Lessons in Love was released in August 2008. The song "How We Do It (Around My Way)" was promoted as a single in early 2008, but only appeared on select versions of the album. "Girls Around the World" was the next single, another collaboration with Lil Wayne.
Lloyd has made guest appearances on television shows, most notably on the hit show One On One, an episode of Wild 'N Out on June 21, 2007 and on a show called Gotti's Way on VH-1. In an interview Lloyd indicated that he has about twenty tattoos, which include a picture of his father, the logo of his company Young Goldie Music and a "rebel baby angel".
2. Lloyd was a Christian modern rock/pop group who blended vocals with acoustic and electric guitars. Lloyd was formed when two original members of the rock/funk/pop group "Imagine This" teamed up with a new guitarist (who also was with I.T. for a time) and bassist to form Lloyd. The name change is necessary as Lloyd strays quite a distance from the Imagine This.

Yeah!
Aye yo 50
They don't do it like us nigga
Yeah!
[Chorus]
I'm so fly, I got money
I'm so high, I'm on point
And I could tell that your jealous just by the look in your eye
And when I ride by
I don't care, G-Unit's going straight to the top this year
Nigga I'm so fly, I got money
So that's good enough reason to buy the things I buy
[Verse - Lloyd Banks]
Uh, Banks is fresh out the gutter
Too smooth to stutter
The cig a melt a brother like two scoops of butter
Before I leave the crib I tell my mother I love her
Grab the burner
But she ain't concerned 'cause he's a earner
My bitch lays it out real nice for me to murder
We fight, wake up and fuck like Ike and Tina Turner
Its a privilege to ride with a celeb'
'Cause them girls over here don't got a problem giving head
Paranoia is on ya', that's why ya' llama's in ya' bed
Fuck some real Chinchilla, buy some Llama for ya' head
Where the block I'm from
Niggaz be damn near forty and still tucking
And niggaz baby mama's is pregnant and still fucking
It's either 'cause they boyfriends a scrub like Brillo
'Cause Banks is cooler than the other side of the pillow
The chronic is blown
For my niggaz that got locked up and deported
And now they gotta go back home
[Chorus]
[Verse - Lloyd Banks]
Don't confuse me with the suckers
'Cause when I spit, You'll hear more ?Oh's?
Then a Skip-to my-Lou move at the Rucker
Thank God for giving Banks the gift
You think that bandana makes you look gangsta
But all I see is a handkerchief
Nigga there's no one out the click that freezes
Believe that, 'cause I ain't scared a shit but Jesus
Look dog, I don't run with the poodles
Difference is, I'm eating in Rome and you eating Roman Noodles
Ya' boy is corrupt kid
Banks a send a bitch to the store
Just for a piece of cheesecake like Puff did
You chumps can't afford these homes
Look around I got forty clones
Now look down, that's forty stones
And that's only in the necklace
I'm bony and I'm wreck lace
It's Tony in a Lexus
I'm fresh out the gutter, scrap what ya' man thought
I'm in the hood with more straps than a Jan sport
[Chorus]
[Verse - Lloyd Banks]
When I travel I know I'm gon' get stuck
'Cause they harass us in the airport
Like I'm the one that's blowing shit up
I got the patience of a High School teacher
And a bright future
Why the fuck would I have a bum on my sneaker?
All the goodie girls back off us
My hearts colder then Jack Frost's
We pack shows and attract bosses
Black clothes with my black Forces
A black rose for a rats coffin
I'm blowing O's of that black coughing
Blow on the road then I'm back flossing
No one knows how much that's costing
Fuck ass, only the green moves me
I got a clean Uzi
A pair of gloves and a mask from the Scream movie
So if you plotting on popping off, then scheme smoothly
Or get a little red splatter on ya' cream Coogi
My name ring each state
So you ain't gotta go all the way to L.A. to get ya MC ate
[Chorus]
Lloyd Banks in his 2004 song, I’m So Fly, brags about his wealth and status. He puts a great emphasis on his money and how it sets him apart, giving him the confidence to explore his swag without the fear of judgment. He uses his smooth flow to detail the envy he can sense from his haters just by looking at their facial expressions. Banks cannot stop gushing about the power he derives from his smoke, his fancy cars and jewelry, which he believes real street thugs cannot afford. Lloyd is fresh out of the gutter; he raps about grabbing his burner before leaving his mother's house, indicating his familiarity with violence. At the same time, he is also courteous to her, expressing his love for her before leaving. Banks' sense of authenticity and connections with the world and culture of violence embody what made G-Unit and the early 2000s hip-hop culture immensely popular.
The verse also highlights how much of a “ladies man” Banks is. He talks about his privileged position in the hierarchy of the hip-hop culture that enables him to ride around with attractive girls. He describes how paranoia can be severe for celebrities, highlighting safety concerns and carrying a firearm. Through his rap persona, Banks' I’m So Fly delves into the traditional aspects of hip-hop, which comprise of violence, dominance, and sexuality, mixed with significant amounts of braggadocio.
