Banks was born in New Carrollton, Maryland and raised in Queens, New York. His mother named Rosa LLoyd of Puerto Rican descent and has a Haitian-American father. His father spent most of Lloyd's childhood in prison, leaving his mother to raise him and his two siblings. Lloyd attended August Martin High School but dropped out at age 16. For his stage name, he took his great, great-grandfather's name Banks, which was passed on by his uncles who also shared it.
G-Unit was founded when childhood friends Lloyd Banks, 50 Cent, and Tony Yayo decided to make a group with each other. They met Young Buck when UTP group came to New York and 50 Cent heard Young Buck rapping. After 50 Cent signed his contract with Aftermath Entertainment they took Young Buck in the group and signed him. Tony Yayo, being an older and more experienced rapper, joined 50 Cent on the Nas Promo Tour, the Cash Money Tour and the Ruff Ryders Tour. As Banks remained at home waiting for 50 and Yayo to return, he started rappin around the neighborhood to further increase his buzz on the streets. He then hooked up with neighborhood producers and made tracks for local mixtapes. Lloyd Banks has a renowned reputation on the mixtape scene. While Banks was making Mixtapes,50 Cent was soon granted his own record label by Dr. Dre and released the album Get Rich or Die Tryin'; Lloyd Banks was featured on the song "Don't Push Me", and the remixed version of "P.I.M.P". Soon after the group had established their own record label, G-Unit Records, G-Unit released their first official group album Beg for Mercy in November 2003, which went on to be certified double platinum.
During August 2005, Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, and their entourage were traveling in a van, when the vehicle was pulled over after passing through a red light in midtown Manhattan. Officers said they discovered a loaded handgun and another weapon in the van. Prosecutors asked a judge to dismiss the charges after an investigation determined that neither Lloyd Banks nor Young Buck was in possession of the weapons. Felony gun charges against Lloyd Banks and Young Buck were dropped on November 8, 2006.
In the early morning hours of January 9, 2010, in a Kitchener, Ontario hotel, an alleged altercation took place between Banks and a concert promoter over performance fees. Banks, and three of his associates, were later charged with forcible confinement, aggravated assault and robbery, and released on $50,000 bail.
In late January 2010, it was announced that Banks would release a new song, "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley" featuring Juelz Santana, from his upcoming third studio album. "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley" charted at #49 on the Billboard Hot 100. Lloyd Banks release info via his twitter announcing that the title for his third album has tentatively been called The Hunger for More 2' and will attempt to take him back to his best work. However, the G-Unit label later stated that the title is not set in concrete and still may be altered. The title of the album was confirmed by 50 Cent as H.F.M. 2 (The Hunger for More 2) in a interview with MTV News. According to Banks, Interscope is trying to get him back due to the success of the single "Beamer, Benz, or Bentley".
One night stand
Lloyd Banks Lyrics

My joy ride has just begun
Girl, I'm the one that can get the job done
And not fall victim to the hit and run
I'm one night standing
No breakfast in bed today
Soon as day break I'll be on my way
Shorty damn near mine without the whip and chain
Bet if I don't get the pussy, I'm a get the brain
Whether she knows or don't know what the Scriptures saying
I'm a player with a league pass, ma I get the games
Whether I hit her don't hit she won't forget the name
Lloyd Banks you know the yellow nigga with the change
A frozen hand on the metal when I whip the Range
I'm sitting sideways, dazed and switching lanes
There's a 60-inch plasma in the master room
We can sleep the whole morning and fuck the way to afternoon
I had a way with words since I had a half a moon
And I'm touring the world all winter, I'll be back in June
You ain't got to handle a mop, or push back a broom
There's maids for that, this where the paper with the papers at
Scars are a part of my story I can't take it back
Maybe that's why I look at shit like that
I'm one night standing
My joy ride has just begun
Girl, I'm the one that can get the job done
And not fall victim to the hit and run
I'm one night standing
No breakfast in bed today
Soon as day breaks I'll be on my way
MIA back to JFK
And its the same thing around the way
Just a lot more drama, you have to swing around the K
I never got the ones I wanted just the ones that wanted me
Look at her, she got the vapors 'cause I'm on TV
Looking' like a million dollars in that blue G T
And my Reese and my blue EV's, bitch please
I have you feeling like you hit the jackpot
'Cause my back shots, equivalent to crack rock
I have you hooked off, dick prank calling your shit
Going back and forth with your friends paintallin' my whip
Besides I done gave you the sign, you just wouldn't read it
Now you feeling like Keyshia Cole and 'You Should've Cheated'
So hoe, I pay it to never mind
Mind on my money, money keep shit together
I'm probably going where you drove and looking
Listening to the radio and half way out of Brooklyn, good looking
I'm one night standing
My joy ride has just begun
Girl, I'm the one that can get the job done
And not fall victim to the hit and run
I'm one night standing
No breakfast in bed today
Soon as day breaks I'll be on my way
MIA back to JFK
I'm one night standing
I've got to leave you girl
I'm one night standing
I've got to leave you girl
I'm one night standing
Wish I could stay but I got to play
In the song "One Night Stand", Lloyd Banks presents his sexually charged and playboy lifestyle. He depicts himself as a "one night standing" type of guy who does not believe in commitment and is always on the move. He seems to have no remorse about leaving women immediately for his next adventure, never getting too attached or caught up in the drama or emotions of his hookups. He believes himself to be irresistible and has a level of swag that always attracts his type of women. He likes the challenge of the chase and the control he has over these women without being tied down. He expresses that he does not need these women, but they need him and his charm. The song overall displays his confident and selfish personality that he consumes himself in his pleasure without apologies.
Overall, the lyrics create an image of a man who is very self-assured and confident, who knows what he wants and how to get it. Lloyd Banks displays his playboy and luxurious lifestyle, bragging about his wealth and his fame, using it to attract women while making it clear that he has no intention of ever being committed or tied down. The song can be interpreted as a warning to women who are looking for a meaningful relationship that Lloyd Banks will never be that guy. But at the context of the music, it creates a sound that is made for party vibes with a good beat to dance on.
