This Is It
Lo Moon Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Parallel love
Innocently vacant
On the edge of breaking
Shouldn't keep me waiting
Yesterday's drugs
should never be taken
I fell into rotation
Surrender mistaken

This is it
This is it, love
This is it
This is it
This is it, love
This is it

I kill the hollow coward
Holding on impatient
Nothing left is sacred
There's no way to save it

This is it
This is it, love
This is it
This is it
This is it, love
This is it
This is it
This is it, love
This is it

Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine
Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine
Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine
Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine
Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine
Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine

This is it
This it it, love
This is it
Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine
This is it
This is it, love
This is it
Let me out
Out of my cage
Out of my brain
Out in the sunshine
This is it
This is it, love
This is it
Let me out

Out of my brain

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Lo Moon's song "This Is It" delve into the complexities of love and relationships. The first verse sets the scene of a parallel love that is "innocently vacant" but also "on the edge of breaking." The singer's impatience is palpable as they declare that they shouldn't be kept waiting, but they are also caught in a cycle of addiction and surrender. The chorus repeats the titular phrase, emphasizing the importance and finality of the moment.

The second verse takes a darker turn as the singer confronts the idea that "nothing left is sacred" and that there is no way to save the relationship. They embody a sense of anger and determination, declaring that they will "kill the hollow coward" that is holding them back. The bridge then shifts towards a need for freedom and escape, repeating the plea to be released "out of my cage" and "out in the sunshine." The final chorus repeats the idea that "this is it," but with the added plea for release.
