After going on to play college football at Southern Illinois University, Logan picked up the guitar and started writing songs in his spare time. The summer before his Junior year at SIU he made a 4 song acoustic CD of some of the songs he had written to pass out to all his friends. The CD was a huge hit in his hometown, and all over the SIU Campus where you could drive to any given house party on a saturday night and hear Logan's voice and guitar over the stereo accompanied by a few hundred drunk college kids singing at the top of their lungs along to every word. At that point football practice and school unfortunately began to take a backseat to the new found music career. With trips to Nashville becoming frequent Logan made the decision midway through his Junior year to leave school and pursue music full time in Nashville, TN.
At the end of his first year in Nashville after working numerous odd jobs as a truck driver, bouncer at Coyote Ugly, a furniture delivery man, and a DJ on a party bus amongst various other odd jobs, Logan landed a publishing deal with, Hit Songwriter, Brett Jones at Wyoming Sky Music. He then began writing and performing full time having the opportunity to open shows for major country acts including Pat Green and Merle Haggard. In his first year he has penned the song "Mexicoma" which will be a single on Bucky Covingtons upcoming album. Logan also had the opportunity to play his distant cousin's, and Pioneer of "The Bakersfield Sound" Billy Mize's 80th birthday party in Bakersfield, California where he performed one of Billy's hits "Who Will Buy The Wine" for the birthday audience including Billy himself amongst various other Bakersfield Legends.
Three years into his Nashville arrival, Logan Mize is already establishing himself as a writer and as an artist. His live shows are packed with high energy, infectious melodies, and organic lyrics that are sure to keep audiences coming back for more. You can be sure to hear alot more from Logan in the near future.
Good Life

And baby I mean it when I say I love where this thing's headed
But this concrete city's run me ragged, let me tell you I've had it
I miss the simple life I used to know
Well I like driving around in my Ford truck, waving at the pretty girls
Slinging mud on the tail pipes and dodging the blue lights
Icing down a cooler full of High Life, it goes good with a hot night
I bet our families would both be happy, if we showed up like Cousin Eddie
We could help with harvest on the farm,
they'd let us park our air stream in the yard
Come on girl I'm just being funny but for real now honey
The clock is ticking, we're running late
I miss driving around in my Ford truck, arm around a pretty girl
Slinging mud on the tail pipes and dodging the blue lights
Icing down a cooler full of High Life, it goes good with a hot night
Peppered sky full of star light, good God it's a good life
I won't mind one day getting older, with your head on my shoulder
Watching the day's sunset, sipping tea on the front step
All the chickens and the dogs in the front yard,
rusty tractor, 50 acres and a red barn
Big dreams down a dead end dirt road, I'm sold baby let's go home
We'd go driving around in my Ford truck, you can be my pretty girl
Sling some mud on the tail pipes, we'll go dodging the blue lights
Icing down a cooler full of High Life, it goes good with a hot night
Peppered sky full of star light, good God it's a real good life
Damn right, it's a good life
Ooh, it's a real good life
It's a good life
Yeah
Logan Mize's "Good Life" is a tribute to the simplicity and beauty of rural life. The song reflects a longing for a slower pace of life and the desire to escape the hustle and bustle of city living. Mize uses clever wordplay and descriptive language to take listeners on a journey of what life in the countryside would ideally look like. He acknowledges that love is a strong word and he truly means it when he says that he loves where their relationship is headed, but he needs to escape the concrete jungle and find solace in a place where he can enjoy the little things in life.
The lyrics describe driving around in a Ford truck with a pretty girl by his side, slinging mud on the tail pipes, and dodging the blue lights. Mize paints a vivid picture of icing down a cooler full of High Life, which goes perfectly with a hot night under a peppered sky full of starlight. He reminisces about the life he used to have, and imagines the life he could have on a farm, where they could help with harvest or park their air stream in the yard. Mize foresees a future where he is able to embrace the aging process with his sweetheart by his side, observing the sunset together with a hot cup of tea, surrounded by the familiar sounds of animals and farm equipment.
In summary, Logan Mize's "Good Life" is a yearning for a life of simplicity, love, and fulfillment. It's a reminder to appreciate the little things and not to take life for granted. The song showcases Mize's lyrical talent, and its upbeat melody makes it a perfect sing-along anthem for anyone who cherishes the country life.
