This song reminds of the time in the spring of 1973 when I fell in love with a beautiful girl named Laurie Fischer. I was in fifth grade and she was a grade below me and we rode the school bus home together. I was so much in "love" I would go home and cry in frustration (because I never had the nerve to even speak more than three words to her). Every time I hear this song, I think of 1973, that bus ride and Laurie — even 39 years later. Thanks for the upload.

Such a wonderful feel good song. It reminds me of practicing with my pony league baseball team at lawndale park in chicago in the early 70's. I can smell the field and the bubble gum every time I hear this song. What a great feeling.

I LOVE this song and was a big L&M fan from the first album. What a charge years later to work with Merel Bregante - one of the all-time best drummers/percussionist and a sweetheart of a guy. This whole band was incredible and L&M couldn't have been what it was without them. Too bad the reunion band didn't include them - just good young cats playing what the old band already created. Still a tribute to them. Great song - great band.

pigurine 1973, I was 18 yrs old. Back then it was legal to buy whiskey. Man did I blow some money. Got drunk one night, next day 5 Oct 73, I joined the Marine Corps. Aug 74, I was sent to Okinawa, boy did I party.

This is the original 45 single. You may be remembering another version that was played on FM radio that was different in it's slower pace and with no drums. I didn't like that LP version and for me, this is by far and away, the superior version.

Became familiar with this version when thinking about an older woman Joanne who was in my Brother's HS senior glass. Liked the musicianship and the neat drum opening, the castanets, all of it. Did not like the other drum less? version that was played later on AOR FM radio. Got older and thought about how she needed to be near him for him to be interested. Oh well the confection is still very sweet. Thinkin' of yooooouuuuuu.
