LAM has gained a large and loyal following all over the world, from the USA to Europe to Latin America (where the live band has toured extensively), and beyond. LAM has headlined and co-headlined concerts and major festivals with bands like The Cure, Green Day, HIM (HIM has cited LAM a favorite artist), Rammstein, Soft Cell and many more. LAM has performed to crowds of over 30,000 people as headliner and co-headliner on major music festivals around the world. However, London After Midnight maintains a strong underground and independent "personality" despite being a top seller (charting in the top 10 and top 20 German DAC, and other European independent charts, with each of 4 CDs released) and a major draw at music festivals year after year.
Songwriter, instrumentalist, producer and founder Sean Brennan is known for his strong stances in favor of animal rights, pro-environmental and human rights issues, anti-corporate control of media, and support for progressive and liberal political and social causes. Whatever the approach or subject matter, the music of London After Midnight is deeply touching, powerful, socially aware, romantic, emotional, disturbing, haunting, moving, and often exhibits a morbid wit with its sardonic humor (listen to the tongue-in-cheek "Your Best Nightmare" and try not to think of an Edward Gorey story).
LAM is all this, while at the same time appealing to a wide variety of people. There really is no classification that fits London After Midnight (despite LAM's "dark" image) because the music is so varied and the lyrical content (and even LAM's personality and causes) are unique and uncommon in today's music scene (often breaking boundaries- much to the outrage of people who live and die by genre labels). Sean Brennan shuns all labels (as any artist worth their salt will do) and the music he creates can really only be classified as "London After Midnight".
From 2015-2019 LAM headlined major festivals around the world, including Wave Gotik Treffen multiple times, and many other events. In 2019 Sean Brennan started his own record label, Darkride Records, and released "Selected Scenes from the End of the World: 9119", the original 1991 album remixed from the original master tapes (it is NOT A REMASTER- it's completely remixed from the multi-track master tapes). This new mix restored missing audio tracks and includes a never before released song from the 1991 sessions. Darkride Records released the "Oddities Too", similar in theme to the 1998 album "Oddities" with unreleased music, new music and much more. The all new un-named LAM album and a complete remix of "Psycho Magnet", remixed from the original master tapes, is also underway.

Revenge
London After Midnight Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
The space that used to be my soul
No ray of light no hope has shown
There in the darkened cold
In time memories and pain
Will fade and disappear they must,
But not until this mortal being
You cannot judge what you don't understand
Take the blade from the child's hand
All the petty lies and the jealous whores
Matter little and leave me bored
Repent, remorse, revenge
Why don't you just crucify me,
Nail me to a cross
And bite and scratch and make me scream
If that will get you off
You say a fall from grace would suit me well,
Well you can crawl straight back to hell,
Fear not to lie, it will seem a sharper hit
Nor to blaspheme it will pass for wit
Repent, remorse, revenge
The lyrics to "Revenge" by London After Midnight suggest a deep sense of darkness and despair, perhaps due to the singer's experience of pain and loss. The blackened void is symbolic of the singer's inner turmoil, and the absence of light or hope suggests a deep sense of hopelessness. The lyrics also allude to the transitory nature of existence, with the idea that memories and pain will ultimately fade away, but not until the end of the singer's life. However, the singer's emotions are also imbued with a sense of anger and resentment, as they call for repentance, remorse and ultimately, revenge.
The second stanza speaks to the importance of understanding and empathy, suggesting that judgement without understanding is futile. The lyrics also criticize the pettiness of lies and the destructive nature of jealousy. The final stanza depicts a dramatic scene, with the singer calling out for their tormentors to crucify them if it will provide some kind of satisfaction. The lyrics suggest a belief that the singer has been unjustly demonized, as they proclaim that lying and blasphemy will pass for wit, indicating a sense of societal injustice.

Deep in this blackened void
I feel empty and lost, with no light or hope
The space that used to be my soul
I used to have a soul, but it's gone now
No ray of light no hope has shown
I haven't seen any hope or light in a while
There in the darkened cold
I'm alone in the dark, feeling cold
In time memories and pain
Eventually, memories and pain will fade away
Will fade and disappear they must
They will go away, but not until I die
But not until this mortal being
But I won't die until my mortal body turns to dust
Has turned to scattered dust
Only then will my pain and memories fade away
You cannot judge what you don't understand
Don't judge me if you don't know what I'm going through
Take the blade from the child's hand
Don't let a child be hurt, protect them
All the petty lies and the jealous whores
Small lies and envious people don't matter
Matter little and leave me bored
They are insignificant and don't interest me
Repent, remorse, revenge
I feel bad, but also want to get even
Why don't you just crucify me,
You might as well kill me or hurt me badly
Nail me to a cross
Cause me great pain or suffering
And bite and scratch and make me scream
Torture me until I'm in agony
If that will get you off
If that's what makes you feel good, go ahead
You say a fall from grace would suit me well,
You think I deserve to lose everything and suffer
Well you can crawl straight back to hell,
You can go back to where you came from
Fear not to lie, it will seem a sharper hit
You shouldn't be afraid to lie or deceive to hurt me more
Nor to blaspheme it will pass for wit
You can even insult God to seem more clever
Repent, remorse, revenge
I feel bad, but also want to get even
