LAM has gained a large and loyal following all over the world, from the USA to Europe to Latin America (where the live band has toured extensively), and beyond. LAM has headlined and co-headlined concerts and major festivals with bands like The Cure, Green Day, HIM (HIM has cited LAM a favorite artist), Rammstein, Soft Cell and many more. LAM has performed to crowds of over 30,000 people as headliner and co-headliner on major music festivals around the world. However, London After Midnight maintains a strong underground and independent "personality" despite being a top seller (charting in the top 10 and top 20 German DAC, and other European independent charts, with each of 4 CDs released) and a major draw at music festivals year after year.
Songwriter, instrumentalist, producer and founder Sean Brennan is known for his strong stances in favor of animal rights, pro-environmental and human rights issues, anti-corporate control of media, and support for progressive and liberal political and social causes. Whatever the approach or subject matter, the music of London After Midnight is deeply touching, powerful, socially aware, romantic, emotional, disturbing, haunting, moving, and often exhibits a morbid wit with its sardonic humor (listen to the tongue-in-cheek "Your Best Nightmare" and try not to think of an Edward Gorey story).
LAM is all this, while at the same time appealing to a wide variety of people. There really is no classification that fits London After Midnight (despite LAM's "dark" image) because the music is so varied and the lyrical content (and even LAM's personality and causes) are unique and uncommon in today's music scene (often breaking boundaries- much to the outrage of people who live and die by genre labels). Sean Brennan shuns all labels (as any artist worth their salt will do) and the music he creates can really only be classified as "London After Midnight".
From 2015-2019 LAM headlined major festivals around the world, including Wave Gotik Treffen multiple times, and many other events. In 2019 Sean Brennan started his own record label, Darkride Records, and released "Selected Scenes from the End of the World: 9119", the original 1991 album remixed from the original master tapes (it is NOT A REMASTER- it's completely remixed from the multi-track master tapes). This new mix restored missing audio tracks and includes a never before released song from the 1991 sessions. Darkride Records released the "Oddities Too", similar in theme to the 1998 album "Oddities" with unreleased music, new music and much more. The all new un-named LAM album and a complete remix of "Psycho Magnet", remixed from the original master tapes, is also underway.

This Paradise
London After Midnight Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
I could make this feel so right
Out of the blackest shadows
Into your burning light
Your touch would enthrall my heart,
My touch could release your soul
Lying warm and dark in your arms,
Riding through endless nights,
Bury the nameless dead
The stars will rain down in the night
Cast out of Heaven by jealous angels of death
Together we'll rule our world
Together we'll rule theirs too
Lightning and thunder collide
At the edge of the world for me and you
In this Paradise you'll find just what your looking for,
Beauty right before you eyes,
How could you ask for more?
Here behind these eyes,
Here inside my soul
Hear the screams of a crucifixion ring through the dark,
Ring through the cold
Reach up and pull me down
Into your hallowed ground
I'll lead you into temptation,
Buried in passion I'll lead you down...
The song "This Paradise" by London After Midnight tells a story of a forbidden love between two individuals. The first stanza sets the scene as the two individuals are described as being from different worlds. The lines suggest that the female character has a certain power over the male character as he states that her touch would enthrall his heart while his touch could release her soul. The second stanza further deepens the idea of their love being taboo as they are described as "riding through endless nights" while burying the "nameless dead". This suggests that they are outsiders who create their own world together.
The chorus is where the female character is introduced as the male character describes her as his paradise. He describes how in her they will find what they are looking for, which is a beauty that cannot be found elsewhere. However, the song doesn't shy away from the negativity that surrounds this paradise. The final stanza speaks of a crucifixion, which could refer to the opposition and persecution that the couple faces from society or different people.
Overall, "This Paradise" is a song that portrays love as something that can transcend societal norms and rules. The song suggests that in this love, the characters can find a paradise that is not only beautiful but also one that allows them to be their authentic selves.

I could take your breath away,
I have the ability to leave you breathless,
I could make this feel so right
I can make this perfect for us,
Out of the blackest shadows
Emerging from the darkest of places,
Into your burning light
To become a part of your fervor,
Your touch would enthrall my heart,
The impact of your touch would fascinate me,
My touch could release your soul
My touch could set your spirit free,
Lying warm and dark in your arms,
I feel safe with you in the dark of the night,
Come close to me now and take control
Let us embrace and take charge of our fate,
Riding through endless nights,
Journeying through immortal eves,
Bury the nameless dead
Hiding away those without identity,
The stars will rain down in the night
Celestial bodies will descend during this period,
Cast out of Heaven by jealous angels of death
Kicked out of paradise by envious death angels,
Together we'll rule our world
Together, we shall reign over our empire,
Together we'll rule theirs too
Together, we shall govern theirs as well,
Lightning and thunder collide
Electric bolts and booming clash together,
At the edge of the world for me and you
Located at the globe's extremity for us.
In this Paradise you'll find just what your looking for,
You will discover your desire in this paradise,
Beauty right before you eyes,
Exquisiteness directly in front of you,
How could you ask for more?
What more could you desire?
Here behind these eyes,
Behind my eyes lies my essence,
Here inside my soul
My core is here, inside my spirit,
Hear the screams of a crucifixion ring through the dark,
The dark surroundings echo the cries of a crucifixion,
Ring through the cold
Piercing through the freezing air,
Reach up and pull me down
Lift me from where I am, down to where you are,
Into your hallowed ground
Entering your sacred domain,
I'll lead you into temptation,
I shall take you to what allures you the most,
Buried in passion I'll lead you down...
Immersed in passion, guided downwards by me...
