Singer Hannah Reid (born on 30 December 1989) and guitarist Dan Rothman met in the dorms of Nottingham University where they began writing music together in 2009. They later added multi-instrumentalist Dot Major to complete the London Grammar line-up.
Their popularity rose with the 2012 release of "Hey Now" which they uploaded to the internet and instantly found an online cult following. Their self-released 2013 debut EP "Metal & Dust" reached the Top 5 of the iTunes chart. The same year they signed to Ministry of Sound and the single "Wasting My Young Years" appeared as the first release on the label. 2013 also saw them play a sold-out show at the Islington Assembly Hall and make an appearance at the Great Escape Festival in Brighton.
"Strong" was the next single extracted from the album "If You Wait", released on September 9th, 2013.

Baby It's You
London Grammar Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴ Line by Line Meaning ↴
See them everywhere
In my veins like lightning
I don't even care
And the crowd is heavy
I don't wanna move
And nothing else matters
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
All these painted faces singing back to me
There's an ocean here but you are all I see
And nothing else matters
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
You
Baby, it's you
Baby, it's you
Baby, it's you
The opening lines of the first verse of London Grammar's song "Baby It's You" describes the thrill and excitement the singer is feeling as she is surrounded by a sea of bright lights that are rapidly changing colours. She compares this to the feeling of adrenaline flowing through her veins, giving her an electric energy that she simply cannot ignore. Despite the crowds, she feels very heavy, and she doesn't want to move. As she takes in all the bright colours around her, she can only think of one thing - the person she loves.
The chorus repeats the phrase "Baby, it's you" several times, indicating that the love interest is the central figure in her world and that they are the only one that matters. The singer is focusing her attention on the people around her, but none of them matter as much to her as the subject of her affection.
The second verse focuses exclusively on the painted faces of the fans that surround her as she sings. She adds a layer of sensory limitation, stating that though there is an ocean of faces singing in unison with her, she only sees and hears the voice of her beloved. This song indicates the potency of love, as events such as magic, beauty, and grandeur all pale before the purest of romances that bring people together.
