They were four members but Cosm.i.c has left the group. His appearance on "Fort Europa" (Album) was his last. Read about it on http://www.looptrooprockers.com
Dj Mc Marshall (later to be known as EMBEE) and his classmate Marcie Cee shared a newfound love of hip-hop music in the early 90s. The rest of the jerks in the school didn't get it, and the two were both excited about having something that was their own and eager to let some more people in on the secret. One day they would laugh about who in school looked least likely to be able to rap. They soon decided it was definitely that longhaired, loud-mouthed, tight jeans wearing dude in the 8th grade: Mc Mårten (Promoe).
Some months later Dj Mc Marshall and Mc Mårten recorded their first song, and many more were to come. They would team up with two other young guys from their hometown of Västerås, Sweden and eventually take on the name Looptroop that now reigns supreme over nearly every continent. Mellow T (Cosmic) was one of the two guys that joined forces with them. He used to be in another Västerås crew called The Hot Dogs, and before that it was Groovy Soundsystem.
"I remember seeing Cosmic battling some of his old crew members at a highschool disco," reminisces Promoe. "This was before I knew him, and I have a clear memory of how the kids he was battling were reading their lyrics off big pieces of paper on the stage floor while performing. I was not impressed."
"Supreme joined the crew some years later," says Embee, "[we] met at different house parties around town. He was in a hardcore band called Aggressive Contrast and I invited him to make a song, or rather kick a verse or two, at The Wax Cabinet. Up till this day he still refuses to listen to that first recording and even when we listen to old Looptroop songs that we recorded before he was in the group he runs out like his pants are on fire."
Now, 14 years after Embee and Promoe took their first stumbling steps into the world of music, and seven years after Looptroop founded their record company David vs. Goliath it's time for the third Looptroop album called Fort Europa to be released to the public. It's been almost 40 releases from the DvsG's, most recently Promoe's Long Distance Runner and White Man's Burden, Embee's Grammy award winning Tellings From Solitaria, and Looptroop's Fort Europa. They've continued their collaboration with punk label Burning Heart Records that will license the new album just as they did Modern Day City Symphony (2000) and The Struggle Continues (2002). Looptroop, Embee, and Promoe works closely with the sound and mixing masters at Soundism since a few years.
9/2-2007, Cosm.i.c announced that he is no longer a member of the Looptroop crew.
He announced that he was leaving because of all the travelling and not being together with his family as much as he wanted to. He also said that there's no ongoing beef between the members and that he loves his crew like they were his own brothers.
As a consequence of Cosm.i.c leaving the band, they changed the name to Looptroop Rockers, under which the 2008 album "Good Things" has been released.

Business & Pleasure
Looptroop Lyrics
Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴
"Thats right"
"Business" "and the pleasures in life"
"Selfsupported"
"Fuck the industry"
"Business" "takes more than a dollar and a dream"
[Promoe]
Ain't a rapper with a deal as pleased
Some don't see where they run so they run to the sea like lemmings
Drown in despair 'cus they dependent
All dressed in designer underwear
But most rhymers are unaware lyrically impair
And not prepared to battle me
Been doing this since Karate Kid and Police Academy
A twenty-three years young man, with no suntan
Always was a KRS-One fan, with the belt hung can
Criminal minded since '86
In seventh grade hung with crazy kids
Never lived in the ghetto, but fell in love with ghetto music
That blueprint of hiphop, who protects us from new shit
Nowadays rap sucks I listen to Chucky Star
Know one day my time will come wishing on my lucky star
That they start promoting the wrong thing
Word to Don King, that doesn't mean a damn thing, you're still top-ranking
([Supreme] I know, Promoe how come your shit is so much fresher?)
Cus I don't let the business suffocate the pleasure
I don't feel the pressure I just rock, rock on
That's why a lot of people don't seem to like me in Stockholm
But that's cool, I go for Japan and Germany
Australia, the whole world is what's concerning me
Not your petty bull about who did and said what first
You keep Stockholm I'ma conquer the universe
"worldwide and universally"
"That's right"
"Business" "and the pleasures in life"
"Self supported"
"Fuck the industry"
"Business" "takes more than a dollar and a dream"
Ey yo we laugh on our way to the bank, that's how we combine
Business with pleasure go hand in hand like beats and rhymes
Thieves and crimes, me and mines
Looptroop, we go gold and we don't even have to try
[Supreme]
Four business men, the troopteam we enterprise
Too strong to be slept on, yo, we be our own managers
Our own promoters, we take no orders
Crossed this order in society by pushing tapes on mailorder
To make ways broader, we cross the border
Rock the taperecorder right now, some place you never thought of
Think I playahate it, matter of fact I'm MVP
Västerås entrepreneurs built DVSG
From the grassroot, Looptroop most wanted in the DJbooth
A word of advice for the up and coming young youth
The recipe is, produce this, press this, get fame
If you get dissed, get 'em back on wax
Never pay tax, never had backs, never expect too much cash
But if you make money fast, make the money last
Make the honeys laugh, make sure your crew stays tight
Remember business IS pleasure if it's done right
Never lose sight of your real friends, 'cus when career ends
I think we glad we stuck to 'em, guess that make sense
Be intense on stage and be provocative ([Promoe] Alwaaaays!!)

Business and pleasure, business IS pleasure"
"Business"
The Looptroop's song Business & Pleasure clearly showcases the group's independent spirit and their focus on self-support rather than relying on the industry. The song emphasizes the importance of balancing business with pleasure and highlights the pitfalls of being dependent on a record deal or industry players. The lyrics convey a message of perseverance and hard work paying off, and how to maintain a healthy balance between business and pleasure in the music industry.
The opening lines of the song "Worldwide and universally" and "That's right" sets the tone for an unapologetic, confident, and global outlook. The lyrics mention how some rappers become so tied up in business and industry that they forget why they got into music in the first place. The reference to KRS-One and the origins of hip-hop highlights the importance of staying connected to the roots of the genre while also pushing boundaries and making new music. The lyrics also show that the group is focused on building a worldwide audience and aren't concerned with solely dominating the Stockholm music scene.
The chorus "Business takes more than a dollar and a dream" emphasizes the importance of hard work, dedication, and following through on one's dreams. The lyrics in the verses talk about the group's self-sufficiency, the importance of maintaining their creativity, and how they have carved out their path in the industry. The song encourages artists to put in the work, stay true to their vision, and not compromise their artistic integrity for the sake of the industry.
