They were four members but Cosm.i.c has left the group. His appearance on "Fort Europa" (Album) was his last. Read about it on http://www.looptrooprockers.com
Dj Mc Marshall (later to be known as EMBEE) and his classmate Marcie Cee shared a newfound love of hip-hop music in the early 90s. The rest of the jerks in the school didn't get it, and the two were both excited about having something that was their own and eager to let some more people in on the secret. One day they would laugh about who in school looked least likely to be able to rap. They soon decided it was definitely that longhaired, loud-mouthed, tight jeans wearing dude in the 8th grade: Mc Mårten (Promoe).
Some months later Dj Mc Marshall and Mc Mårten recorded their first song, and many more were to come. They would team up with two other young guys from their hometown of Västerås, Sweden and eventually take on the name Looptroop that now reigns supreme over nearly every continent. Mellow T (Cosmic) was one of the two guys that joined forces with them. He used to be in another Västerås crew called The Hot Dogs, and before that it was Groovy Soundsystem.
"I remember seeing Cosmic battling some of his old crew members at a highschool disco," reminisces Promoe. "This was before I knew him, and I have a clear memory of how the kids he was battling were reading their lyrics off big pieces of paper on the stage floor while performing. I was not impressed."
"Supreme joined the crew some years later," says Embee, "[we] met at different house parties around town. He was in a hardcore band called Aggressive Contrast and I invited him to make a song, or rather kick a verse or two, at The Wax Cabinet. Up till this day he still refuses to listen to that first recording and even when we listen to old Looptroop songs that we recorded before he was in the group he runs out like his pants are on fire."
Now, 14 years after Embee and Promoe took their first stumbling steps into the world of music, and seven years after Looptroop founded their record company David vs. Goliath it's time for the third Looptroop album called Fort Europa to be released to the public. It's been almost 40 releases from the DvsG's, most recently Promoe's Long Distance Runner and White Man's Burden, Embee's Grammy award winning Tellings From Solitaria, and Looptroop's Fort Europa. They've continued their collaboration with punk label Burning Heart Records that will license the new album just as they did Modern Day City Symphony (2000) and The Struggle Continues (2002). Looptroop, Embee, and Promoe works closely with the sound and mixing masters at Soundism since a few years.
9/2-2007, Cosm.i.c announced that he is no longer a member of the Looptroop crew.
He announced that he was leaving because of all the travelling and not being together with his family as much as he wanted to. He also said that there's no ongoing beef between the members and that he loves his crew like they were his own brothers.
As a consequence of Cosm.i.c leaving the band, they changed the name to Looptroop Rockers, under which the 2008 album "Good Things" has been released.

Long Arm Of The Law

Is grabbing you, backstabbing you
Policecars passing you, on dark avenues
Mag lights flashing you, pigs harassing you
Breaking you down, smashing you (smashing you)
[Promoe]
On the concrete, you find out you can't compete
I tried to tell you that back, on the biggest hustle track
It's OK to sell crack, if the cops got your back
And they certainly will, if they're on your payoff
They know that if they fuck around, they're getting laid off
and since to cops, just like the average citizen, a clean conscience
compared to a steady income, that's nonsense
That's why I stay getting busted for bullshit charges
More than one time, one time, came around
This fuck went down
När ja å Tommy var i Burlöv, do kommer ihåg, eller hur bög?
-Jorå schlook, vi hade just fotat pieces
Now we're getting fucked by the long dick of the law
Inflict social diseases cause they use no protection
Judge slam the hammer, D.A. got an erection
Wouldn't even give me a public defender
For such a small case, not paying on the trains
Still they want to four thousand crownors, from my bank account
I thought that was a too big amount
But the judge didn't had no sympathy on me
All on his mind, a conviction or are fine, like Junior Reeves
But I wasn't fighting -No war (no waaar)
Still they want to send a mailman with a ticket to mi door -ah to mi doooor
I was only trying to make a wholecar -A wholecar
The Bigfoot beast want to arrest dej, and put you behind bars -In just a blur,
in just a blur
Free mumia abu jamal
Chorus: Yo, when the long arm of the law
Is grabbing you, backstabbing you
Policecars passing you, on dark avenues
Mag lights flashing you, pigs harassing you
Breaking you down, smashing you
Yo, when the long arm of the law
Is grabbing you, backstabbing you
Policecars passing you, on dark avenues
Mag lights flashing you, pigs harassing you
Breaking you down, smashing you
[Supreme]
Asking you "what", "why", "when"
And "Where at were you?"
"And with whom", so you is innocent till proved (yea, yea)
They're in the wrong mood, you're in the wrong goove
Or you might look kinnda rude, eatherways you're getting screwed
Told what not to do, how to improve the system
By not making moves, not questioning rules
Not being concerned with, who's getting beat and bruised
Who's being abused, well well
I got news for those who belive the police doing their work right
My man from back home, killed this kid in a fight
Had to do social-work, he got arrested a few times
But never had to do time, never paid no fines
This other cat, he goes trace, with official failance
Which equals, he lost some money for the government
They couldn't prove his guilt, as he stood in silence
But since that crime was economical
They bet every law and paragraph, they could find to lock him up
Now what does that teach us? -They don't give a fuck
If you hurt flesh and blood that don't cross nothing
But you'll get like twelve months for material destruction
Yo, that's disgusting
So when the long arm of the law try to get it's grip
Pull your middle finger and split
(yo, split)
Chorus: Yo, when the long arm of the law
Is grabbing you, backstabbing you
Policecars passing you, on dark avenues
Mag lights flashing you, pigs harassing you
Breaking you down, smashing you
[Cos.m.i.c]
It's like this, I'm opressed by the whole system
That's why I diss 'em, no fake ass-kissing
Yo listen, recently I had to pay a visit
To Malmoe courthouse, two-thousand crowns if I miss this, so skip it
I went down there to be confronted
I denied the whole scenario, said I couldn't have done it
9:30 in the morning, met my lawyer
he said it looks kinnda bad, they got witnesses and all that
FUCK THAT
I still fill like I am innocent
You think I wrote BIF on McD without a reason? (whoa?)
Yo, I'm stuck, it's like David versus Goliath
A lonely man, versus the corruption of alliance
Don't expect silence though, I make noise till ya ears bleed
And make you all scrap paint until I stop breath
Belive me, I know the time when it's on
Cosmic, lyricly I rock in Babylon
-But yo 'cause, what happened at that trial incident?
You know the same old song
They find my story insufficient, mistreated, defeated and mentally harassed
An outcast, who's down for punishment at last
Yo, ya, wa, check
Chorus: Yo, when the long arm of the law
Is grabbing you, backstabbing you
Policecars passing you, on dark avenues
Mag lights flashing you, pigs harassing you
Breaking you down, smashing you
Gouvernment taxing you, turning backs on you
If you got the wrong sex, and the wrong accent too
The wrong attitude, living on the wrong latitude
Still they want your ass to show gratitude
The song "Long Arm of the Law" by Looptroop Rockers is a powerful commentary on the systemic oppression and corruption of law enforcement. The song has a repetitive chorus that emphasizes the futility of resisting the law when it has its sights on you. The chorus also mentions different ways in which the long arm of the law can ruin someone's life, including backstabbing, police cars passing, mag lights flashing, pigs harassing, breaking you down, and smashing you. The verse by Promoe paints a picture of the corrupt nature of cops who are willing to overlook illegal activities as long as they are getting paid. Promoe also talks about his personal experience of the law coming down hard on him even for small charges. Supreme's verse highlights the inconsistencies of the law, with some criminals getting away with just doing social work while others are punished severely. Cosmic's verse gives a glimpse into his experience of being oppressed by the system.

Yo, when the long arm of the law
Is grabbing you, backstabbing you
Policecars passing you, on dark avenues
Mag lights flashing you, pigs harassing you
Breaking you down, smashing you (smashing you)
When cops come after you, they'll do whatever it takes to catch you, harass you, intimidate you, and arrest you. You'll feel cornered, helpless, and powerless before the power of the state.
On the concrete, you find out you can't compete
With the number one thief on the street
I tried to tell you that back, on the biggest hustle track
It's OK to sell crack, if the cops got your back
And they certainly will, if they're on your payoff
They know that if they fuck around, they're getting laid off
and since to cops, just like the average citizen, a clean conscience

That's why I stay getting busted for bullshit charges
More than one time, one time, came around
This fuck went down
When you're on the street hustling, you're competing with other crooks, but also with the police who are there to arrest you, or exploit you if they're on your payroll. They care more about their paycheck than their reputation or integrity. They'll bust you for petty crimes to meet police quotas and earn bonuses, even if you're not guilty. They'll keep coming after you to catch you, despite their corrupt methods.
Now we're getting fucked by the long dick of the law
Inflict social diseases cause they use no protection
Judge slam the hammer, D.A. got an erection
Wouldn't even give me a public defender

The Bigfoot beast want to arrest dej, and put you behind bars -In just a blur, in just a blur
When you get caught by the police, they'll treat you like a criminal, not a human. They'll punish you severely, even for a minor offense, and deny you a fair trial. They'll fine you exorbitantly for trivial things and not care about your financial situation, your rights or your dignity. They'll treat you as a nuisance, not a member of society, and try to put you behind bars for as long as possible, even if you're not a threat to anyone. They'll use every trick in the book, and every excuse at their disposal, to justify their actions, and avoid accountability.
Asking you "what", "why", "when"
And "Where at were you?"
"And with whom", so you is innocent till proved (yea, yea)
They're in the wrong mood, you're in the wrong goove

Now what does that teach us? -They don't give a fuck
If you hurt flesh and blood that don't cross nothing
But you'll get like twelve months for material destruction
Yo, that's disgusting
When the police interrogate you, they'll try to trip you up, trap you, and make you look guilty, even if you're not. They'll use every trick in the book to make you confess to a crime you didn't commit or admit to something you didn't do. They'll also tell you how to behave, what to say or not to say, and how to improve the system by not questioning its authority or legitimacy. They don't care about justice, fairness or humanity, but about enforcing the law and punishing those who cross the line. They'll selectively apply the law to some, but not to others, depending on their socioeconomic status, race, gender or sexual orientation. They'll also manipulate the law and its loopholes to incriminate people for nonviolent crimes and fiscal misdemeanors, while letting murderers and rapists go free. They're not interested in protecting life, liberty, or property, but in preserving their power and status quo.
It's like this, I'm opressed by the whole system

Still they want your ass to show gratitude
When you experience oppression from the system, you'll feel like an outsider, a rebel, and a victim of injustice. You'll use your art, your voice, and your creativity to express your pain, your anger, and your protest against the system. You'll speak truth to power, even if it costs you your freedom and your reputation. You'll fight for your innocence, your dignity, and your integrity, even if the odds are against you and the courts are rigged. You'll also stand up for others who are victimized by the system, who are marginalized, marginalized, and silenced. You'll speak out for social justice, equality, and human rights, even if the government tries to tax you, silence you, or discriminate against you based on your gender, ethnicity, or beliefs. You'll resist conformity, apathy, and complicity, and demand accountability, transparency, and empathy from the state.
So when the long arm of the law try to get it's grip
Pull your middle finger and split
(yo, split)
When you feel the long arm of the law trying to catch you and control you, you'll resist, rebel, and refuse to comply with its demands. You'll show your defiance, your anger, and your contempt for the system. You'll refuse to be a victim of the state, and stand up for your autonomy, your independence, and your dignity. You'll also encourage others to do the same, to resist the oppression of the state, and fight for their rights, their freedom, and their humanity.
