The whole Moria sequence is one of my favourite pieces of cinema ever. The atmosphere, music, look, Gandalf's life lessons.....everything about it is just perfect.

BlondeCurlsBlueEyes

Seconded, definitely. It's my favourite part of the trilogy I think, for all of those reasons

Elwood Blues I was just thinking about this the other day and why exactly Moria is the most compelling part of the entire trilogy. Everything between Gandalf's "long dark of Moria" line and the the Fellowship mourning his death after staving off the Balrog... I don't think a movie has ever had me so invested before or immersed in its story. This is truly a beautiful piece of film.

ThorniMation

Everything from 0:35 onwards, gives me the creeps, as if I'm actually experiencing that huge, dark, deserted, spooky place.

The Hunter

Not to mention sad nostalgia And especially so much connected from the Hobbit . Seeing Balin dead and also Ori and gandalf reminded about Thorin and the mithril shirt . Too much emotions in this scene alone . One of the most famous scenes in cinema history

Tia Aaron

@The Hunter Do movie-goers even remember who the hell Ori was? Balin might be remembered as the generic wise oldman.

Incredible Jake

To Gimli, the Mithril was a kingly gift. But to Bilbo, it was a gift from a friend.

Saint Hangman

It's both a kingly gift and a token of friendship in one.

light as a feather and as hard as dragon scales. one couldn't ask for a finer piece of armor let alone one given as a gift from a king

Damn, you all make me cry and die with these feels.
