He left that group in 2004, and in 2005 produced his first solo album under his own name Lord Vampyr entitled De Vampyrica Philosophia.

Since this release of this first solo album Lord Vampyr has been involved in other projects, including fronting the band Shadowsreign.

Overall Meaning

The lyrics of "Blood Lovers" by Lord Vampyr speaks of the immortality experienced by a vampire due to the consumption of blood. The first verse talks about how the vampire has been alive for a long time, having witnessed the fall of dynasties and nations. Despite all these, the vampire remains young because of the blood that sustains him. The vampire hears the leaves to fall on his coffin and is in tune with the changes of the seasons.

In the second verse, the vampire is inviting someone to join him in darkness. He refers to the person he is beckoning as his 'lady of darkness' and promises to share his immortality with her. The vampire also speaks of the wolves that will sing hymns in honor of the person he is inviting.
