who forgot everybody
I better write this one down
and tell everybody
I better write this one down
I'm a ghost in this town
I better write this one down
and tell everybody
I'm a ghost in this town
I better write this one down
I better write this one down
I better write this one down
The lyrics of Lorn's "I Better" convey a sense of disconnection and invisibility. The singer describes themselves as a "ghost in this town," suggesting that they feel unseen and unheard. They also admit to having forgotten everybody, indicating a sense of distance from others. The repetition of the line "I better write this one down" adds urgency to the message, implying that the singer wants to be remembered and acknowledged.
The line "and tell everybody" adds a layer of complexity to the lyrics. It suggests that the singer wants to be seen but perhaps doesn't have the means to do so themselves. By writing something down and telling everybody, they may be able to have their voice heard and recognized. The repetition of the phrase "I'm a ghost in this town" reinforces the singer's feeling of invisibility and suggests that they are longing for connection and recognition.
Overall, "I Better" is a poignant exploration of the desire for connection and recognition in a world where it can be difficult to be seen and heard. Through its haunting lyrics and stripped-down instrumentation, the song captures the feeling of being lost and struggling to find one's place in the world.
