A veteran of Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions, Balfe is known for his composing music for big-budget films like 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi, Terminator Genisys, Mission: Impossible – Fallout, and the DreamWorks animated films Home and Penguins of Madagascar, as well as the video games Assassin's Creed III, Crysis 2, Skylanders and the Call of Duty franchise. He has also scored the television series The Bible, Marcella, The Crown, and Genius, the latter for which he was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.
Balfe went to Fettes College in Edinburgh, where he had a music scholarship.

This music... Is the epitome of the end of an era... Assassin's Creed's era. Such a masterpiece to end a franchise. At this point, I lost hope of where the franchise would navigate to in the future. So I hereby say, Requiestcat in pace, Assassin's Creed. Thank you for making my childhood such a blast.

Been months since I played AC. The entire game, particularly Ezio's but also when Desmond was in the ancient ruins during AC3 (the recordings he'd encounter were haunting) have a certain cinematic feel that deserve big screen play. Listening to this makes me want to take it up again...this time on something where my vision is filled as much as possible. A mere computer monitor doesn't do it justice.
