This song screams alive the boiling blood of a patriot. The hunger for liberty which our founders and people just like connor helped fight for.

A liberty where one man can make his own way without the tyranny of an earthly king telling him when where and how he should live. That he might live a peaceful and quiet life without the oppression of a fallible human ruler. Free to worship his God any way he so choose. Liberty which gave him right to worship or to not worship of his own agency. A liberty that allowed him to protect that faith, his home and his family and his property with a gun. Liberty to do what is right. To enact justice where wrong was committed.

This song sings of liberty and the cost it took from all involved with particular attention on connor, whom like many, were thrust in the middle. Like many on history, Connor also chose the cause of liberty. Though it is said it didn't favor his people he did see the benefit in fighting the loyalists for their rule would have been far less kind to his people than the revolutionaries.

Liberty my friend. This sings liberty.

A liberty second to that found in the salvation Jesus Christ gives.

I think people disliked Connor because of having Ezio, a very charismatic and likable character, for 3 games straight and then having a sudden switch to Connor, a character that was much different in nature as a product of his tragic life and also culture in general.

I still felt like Connor was very humorous. But just different. I was one of those people who didn't take to Connor that much in the past, I never hated him like some people tho. He was just different, as was the game's structure in terms of supporting cast. I think that also counted a bit.

Regardless though, looking back now, Connor and Haytham were two of the better written characters. Connor alone, in terms of "Assassin-ness" is probably the most badass mf. A tanky agile one-man army. One that, I think Ezio would've been proud of because of his determination and adherence to the Creed's tenets despite the Creed being basically dead in the colonies. He didn't have to adhere to the tenets or be so interested in its history and aesthetic/representation/goals.

I am only saddened by the fact that Connor didn't get much information after the main events of the game. I never knew if he became a mentor or not, if he just disappeared like Achilles or if he tried to grow the brotherhood.. Or if he ventured out into the world to hunt other Templars, such as Shay, who basically "escaped him" in the Colonies.

Idk if maybe there were comics about him but I honestly don't care about comics. Some characters got info later on in other games, such as Haytham, Edward... Some we got to see well after the main events of the games such as Ezio, Arno, Bayek and.... Ugh.. Kassandra & Eivor if we're to count them too despite not being assassins at all.

But I never heard about Connor again :/ In the past I didn't care, but I do now. With the decay of quality in these games, I find myself appreciating the older ones a lot more. And the freaking peak of the series was right here in these 3~4 years with the Ezio trilogy, AC3 and AC Black Flag.

Damn back in 2012 I remember playing this game. I felt bad for Connor in the end Because he fought for his people and and his mother. he had to kill his own father and see his own mother die. In the end he won nothing, he killed Charles but, he lost his people and loved ones. Hell of a story
