Standing Tall
Lorrie Morgan Lyrics

Everything I've tried to do for you has always turned out wrong
It took a lot of love inside of me to keep me here this long
It's too late to dim the lights again expecting me to call
'Cause tonight I'm gonna leave you, and I'm leavin' standin' tall

If I could see inside your mind, I wonder what I'd find?
There's somethin' there that's made me come so close to losin' mine
The tallest tree will sometimes bend, oh, but that won't make it fall
I'm packin' it up to leave you, and I'm leavin' standin' tall
Now I'm pickin' up the pieces of the heart that you've been breakin'
And I'm down on my knees just to try and find them all
And when I get up one long last look is all that I'll be takin'
'Cause tonight I'm finally leavin', and I'm leavin' standin' tall
Yeah, tonight I'm gonna leave you, and I'm leavin' standin' tall

This woman was my favorite singer for 14 years. She is really great

She's the most beautiful woman in Country music and with a voice to match. I never get tired of hearing her sing. I heard her back in 96 at the Civic coliseum in Knoxville TN

I have not listened to Lorrie's music in a few years but I have spent this morning listening and I think I have fallen in love with her work all over again.

I always loved this song, and think it is one of Lorrie’s best, but this video is one of the most bizarre even for the 90’s. I mean first off, why in the heck is Lorrie practicing in full gown and hair with an empty auditorium and no electricity? She seems like a girl that kind of “demands a crowd to pay close attention to her”, if you know what I mean. And what in the world does a street kid sneaking into the Ryman Auditorium on a rainy night have ANYTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THAT? LOL!! Funny thing is, 25yrs ago, it never even dawned on me, but recently after rewatching it I thought, “How in the heck did I not catch this before”? LOL
