yo me voy
no me preguntes
cual es la razón
sabes muy bien
lo que paso
que nuestro amor imposible
terminó.
Bye bye bye bye chiquilla
dime adiós
sonríe,
piensa que es para mejor
no quiero ver que llorarás
lo que no quiero es que vuelvas atrás.
Bye bye bye bye chiquilla
yo me voy
no me preguntes
cual es la razón
sabes muy bien
lo que paso
que nuestro amor imposible
terminó.
Bye bye bye bye chiquilla
dime adiós
sonríe,
piensa que es para mejor
no quiero ver que llorarás
lo que no quiero es que vuelvas atrás
no, no vuelvas a empezar
aha
The song "Bye bye chiquilla" by Los Brincos is a breakup song about a man leaving a woman and not wanting to talk about the reason why. The repeated use of "bye bye" emphasizes the finality of the situation and the sense of closure that the man is seeking by leaving. The lyrics also suggest that the relationship was impossible and that it's time for both parties to move on. The man tells the woman to smile and think of this as a positive change, as he doesn't want to see her cry and doesn't want her to try to go back to the way things were. The song ends with the warning "no, no vuelvas a empezar" which means "don't start again."
The lyrics of "Bye bye chiquilla" deal with universal emotions that anyone who has gone through a break-up or relationship ending can relate to. However, the use of the word "chiquilla" in the title and throughout the song specifices the song's focus on a young woman. This use of the word "chiquilla" (which roughly means "little girl" or "young woman") gives the song a sense of nostalgia and romance. The use of Spanish in the song also adds to its emotional resonance, since Spanish is a high-emotion language that can convey complex emotions through simple words.
