Marco Antonio Solís also wrote and produced albums for artists such as Marisela, Rocío Dúrcal, and María Sorté. After years of a successful career with "Los Bukis" Marco Antonio decided to pursue a solo career. At first Marco Antonio Solís was called "El Buki" but after an agreement with the rest of the band both parties agreed to not make use of the name. The new band is called Los Mismos ("the same ones") as in "the same members of Los Bukis".

Así es, a mí me costó mucho trabajo. Fue muy difícil. Acabo de pagar refrendos de las tumbas de mis familiares (son 7) y mandé arreglar una tumba. Esa noche lo soñé. Creo que me visitó, fue para decirme por qué no lo fui a ver. También me faltó un tío. Es que son muchos seres queridos trascendidos. 💔
