Coma
Los Bunkers Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Vertí mi sangre en este lugar
Gasté las calles de la ciudad
Abrí las puertas de par en par
Buscando una señal

Bajé la guardia y me conseguí
Alguna excusa mejor para seguir
Avergonzado de tanto hablar
Palabras que se van

(Ah-ah)
Y me callé para siempre
(Ah-ah)
Para siempre

Junté mi rabia, apreté una cruz
Junté mi rabia por si apareces tú
Hoy mi costado se ha vuelto a abrir
Como la tarde en que partí

(Ah-ah)
Y me dormí para siempre
(Ah-ah)
Para siempre

Y voy a perderme
Por última vez
(Ah-ah)
Hoy voy a perder la razón
(Ah-ah)
Como lo soñé

(Ah-ah)
Y me dormí para siempre
(Ah-ah)
No quiero que me despierten
(Ah-ah)
Y me quedé para siempre

(Ah-ah)
Para siempre aquí

Overall Meaning

These lyrics are from the song “Coma” by Los Bunkers, a rock band from Chile. The song is about a person who has reached a point where they have given up on their life and have chosen to end it. The first verse talks about how this person has spent their life searching for something, but they have been unsuccessful in finding it. They have bled, walked through the streets, and opened doors in their quest for meaning, but have come up empty-handed. The desperation in their journey is palpable.

In the second verse, the person admits that they talked too much, but they are now ashamed of the words they spoke because they couldn’t find the right ones to express themselves. They want to continue living, but they can’t find a reason to do so. The chorus then repeats, “Ah, y me callé para siempre” (Ah, and I shut up forever) to emphasize their despair and hopelessness.

The third verse talks about how this person has collected their anger and is holding onto it in case someone special returns. However, their wounds have opened up again, and they just want to go to sleep forever, which they do in the next chorus. The final lines of the song talk about how this person has lost themselves for the last time and how they don’t want to be disturbed. They want to stay here forever.

Overall, the song is a heartbreaking tale of someone who has given up on life and finds comfort in the idea of going to sleep forever.
