The lyrics to Los Cafres’ “Loco” are a moving portrayal of an individual struggling with their mental health. The singer of the song “arrimo mi voz” or “leans in with my voice”, singing about the difficulties of life in a world where nothing seems to go their way. The coyote has eaten them, they are broke, and the only thing left to do is to listen to the “balada para un loco” or ballad for a crazy person.
But then the singer shifts their tone, singing about how when they sing, the “fiesta de la gente cantará” or the party of the people will sing. The music uplifts them, with the “fuelle suspirò” or the bellows sighing and the “bombo amaneciò” or the bass drum waking up. They sing about the streets filling with life and joy despite the world being lonely and silent.
The chorus sings about the individual being “sin remedio” or beyond help but also “sin consuelo” or without comfort or solace. There seem to be no answers for the struggle that they face. The final stanza describes a “carroza del loco” or “chariot of the crazy person” taking them away from their pain, where they can forget their sorrows and find love and joy. The song ends with the haunting repetition of “loco con lunas y soles” or “crazy with moons and suns”.

siempre suelto unas lagrimas con esta cancion me recuerda cuando
estaba pasando un momento horrible triste deprimida con un vacio enorme, la escuchaba una y otra vez porque era de las pocas canciones que tenia en mi compu ya hace 10 años
