Originalmente fundada en 1997 con una alineación diferente bajo un nombre diferente, de Los Dareyes son dirigidos por el cantante y acordeonista José Darey Castro, quien fué apoyado por Miguel Enrique Razcón y Juan Vázquez. Cuentan con numerosas compilaciones de grandes éxitos en su catálogo, álbumes de Los Dareyes incluyen El Águila Real (2005), Cigarro de hoja (2005), Como Tú Querías los Oír en Vivo (2005), La Dueña de mi Vida (2005) , (2007 Directo (2006), En la Mira), y (2008 Con Banda).

The lyrics of Los Dareyes De La Sierra's song "La Recia" describe the preparation of a heavily armed and well-protected group of individuals. The first verse describes the group's leader - he carries a bazooka and a grenade launcher and is dressed in black camouflage. He has also blinged up his truck to be bulletproof. The next verse describes the rest of the group - three other individuals and a woman with significant assets (bien ajuariada). They are all dressed in black with bulletproof vests to keep them safe. The chorus talks about their mission - they are going to embark on a "recia," which is a term used in Northern Mexico meaning an intense and violent confrontation.
The second verse explains that this group is not alone. There are fifteen other pistoleros dressed in black and driving bulletproof Suburbans who join them as they leave the city. When people see this group, they assume they are federal agents because of the way they are dressed and armed. At the end of the verse, the lyrics mention that "the dog has been let loose" - which is a metaphor for the initiation of the recia. The final verse suggests that this group is not to be messed with - if anyone stands in their way, they will pay the price. The song ends with the statement that the recia will continue because this group is action-oriented and unafraid of confrontation.
