Ríos De Lágrimas
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Ríos why ríos de lágrimas
forman ríos why ríos de amor
me dijo mientras me besaba la frente
why luego me dijo adiós

mientras pude
un segundo ha durado mi vida
yo viví un millón de veces más
why no me arrepiento de haberte querido
pero sí...

Si un segundo ha durado la vida
yo viví un millón de veces más
why no me arrepiento de haberte querido
pero sí de no haberte olvidado
mientras pude
Ahora el sol ha dorado mi cara
aún el sol brillará mucho más
tan solo me queda el recuerdo

de tu alma
why tal vez...

Overall Meaning

The lyrics to Los Fabulosos Cadillacs's song "Ríos De Lágrimas" describe the pain of a breakup and the lasting effects it has on the singer. The repeated phrase "ríos de lágrimas" (rivers of tears) emphasizes the depth and intensity of the emotions that the singer is feeling. The second line, "forman ríos de amor" (form rivers of love), suggests that even though the love has ended, the memories and feelings are still strong and flowing like a river. The singer's lover kisses their forehead and then says goodbye, leaving the singer alone with their tears and dreams that will never come true. The singer feels like their veins are filled with these dreams and their loneliness will stay with them forever.

The chorus repeats the idea that if a second of life lasts forever, the singer has lived a million lifetimes, and although they don't regret loving their former partner, they do regret not being able to let go when they had the chance. The last verse describes how the sun has risen and continues to shine despite the singer's pain, and all that remains for them is the memory of their former lover's soul. The song captures the depth of sadness and regret that lingers after a relationship ends and life goes on.
