The band, which collaborated with some music stars such as Debbie Harry, Mick Jones, Celia Cruz, Rubén Blades and Fishbone, received the MTV Latino Video Music Award in 1994 for the single "Matador", in what probably was the peak of popularity of the band. On September 29 of that year they produced an MTV Unplugged concert. The Cadillacs also won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, and were nominated in the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards for Best Band and Best Music Video ("La Vida"), which received the now-defunct International Viewer's Choice Award (Southern Region) at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
Siempre Me Hablaste De Ella
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs Lyrics

Empiezan a molestarme
Why vos decís
Que tus ojos están
Tan llenos de vida
Pero no te ven
No te ven
Why vas a llorar
In Los Fabulosos Cadillacs's song "Siempre Me Hablaste De Ella," the singer is sitting in a bar with a friend who speaks of a woman who has clearly made a significant impact on his life. The singer observes that his friend's eyes are full of life and energy, but suggests that they do not truly see him. The friend seems on the verge of tears and the singer notes that sometimes, in moments of solitude, friends raise a glass without the person they are toasting ever knowing. The chorus repeats the title phrase, "Siempre Me Hablaste De Ella," which translates to "You Always Talked to Me About Her," and implies that the friend is constantly discussing this woman, who holds a great significance to him.
The second verse continues to explore the memories and emotions associated with this woman. The singer notes the melancholy memories of a past fall and the tears that accompany them. He also observes other people in the bar who seem to be lost in their own conversations and thoughts. The friend confides that he is tired of traveling and will need to take care of himself once he returns home. The song ends with a repetition of the chorus and a sense that the woman in question will continue to haunt the singer's friend.
