The band, which collaborated with some music stars such as Debbie Harry, Mick Jones, Celia Cruz, Rubén Blades and Fishbone, received the MTV Latino Video Music Award in 1994 for the single "Matador", in what probably was the peak of popularity of the band. On September 29 of that year they produced an MTV Unplugged concert. The Cadillacs also won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, and were nominated in the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards for Best Band and Best Music Video ("La Vida"), which received the now-defunct International Viewer's Choice Award (Southern Region) at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.

iupipati iupipati
mira que se viene ya
iape, iape
Con la cintura, muevela
con la cadera, muevela
Si tu quieres bailar, sopa de caracol
Mira que se viene
iupipati iupipati
mira que se viene ya
iape, iape
Cuando la noche llega aca
to' se preparan pa' tomar
Cuando la noche llega aca
to' se preparan pa' probar
Si tu quieres bailar, sopa de caracol.
Mira que se viene
asi
mira que se viene ya
ie!
Mira que se viene
iupipati, iupipati
Mira que se viene ya
Iape, Iape
Entre caminando a esta fiesta
why de pies me sacaran
Entre caminando a esta fiesta
why de pies me sacaran
Que se viene la mañana
why este coro se va
Mira que se viene
no creo que pueda parar
mira que se viene aca
que la fiesta se acaba aca
Mira que se viene
no creo que pueda parar, mi amor
mira que se viene aca
que la fiesta se acaba aca
Pataclericoncio
no creo que pueda parar
Lulirranivanaia
que se acaba la fiesta
Pataclericoncio
iupipati, iupipati
Lulirranivanaia
que se acaba la fiesta
Si tu quieres bailar, sopa de caracol.
The lyrics to Los Fabulosos Cadillacs's song "Sopa De Caracol" are sung in Spanish and describe the excitement and energy of a party. The song begins with the repetition of "mira que se viene" which translates to "look what's coming" and sets the tone for the rest of the song. The lyrics encourage the listener to dance and move their body by using phrases like "con la cintura, muevela" which means "move your waist" and "con la cadera, muevela" which means "move your hips". The chorus brings back the repetition of "mira que se viene" and adds in "iape, iape" which is a nonsensical phrase used to create a fun and lively atmosphere.
The second stanza of the song talks about how everyone prepares to drink and party when the night arrives. The phrase "to' se preparan pa' tomar" means "everyone prepares to drink" and "to' se preparan pa' probar" means "everyone prepares to try (the food)". The song ends with a combination of playful phrases and made-up words like "Pataclericoncio" and "Lulirranivanaia". The overall message of the song is to let loose, have fun, and dance to the beat of the music.

Ni la puta idea tenía yo de la existencia de esta versión. Bonito ver y escuchar algo de mi país reutilizado por un grupo tan grande como Los Fabulosos Cadillacs.
