The band, which collaborated with some music stars such as Debbie Harry, Mick Jones, Celia Cruz, Rubén Blades and Fishbone, received the MTV Latino Video Music Award in 1994 for the single "Matador", in what probably was the peak of popularity of the band. On September 29 of that year they produced an MTV Unplugged concert. The Cadillacs also won the 1998 Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album, and were nominated in the 2000 Latin Grammy Awards for Best Band and Best Music Video ("La Vida"), which received the now-defunct International Viewer's Choice Award (Southern Region) at the 2000 MTV Video Music Awards.
Twist Y Gritos
Los Fabulosos Cadillacs Lyrics

Twist and shouts, come on, come on, nena
Hasta que llores es mejor, es mejor
Hasta que llores es mejor, es mejor
Ay se te ve tan bien, se te ve tan bien
Sabes me tenés enfermo, me tenés enfermo, tan enfermo de amor
Sacúdete nena, sacúdete nena
Twist and shouts, come on, come on, nena
Y vos bailas tan bien, bailas tan bien
Y vos bailas tan mal, bailas tan mal
Baila un poquito mas cerca, conmigo hasta el final
The song "Twist Y Gritos" by Los Fabulosos Cadillacs is a fun and upbeat track that encourages listeners to let loose and dance until they cry. The lyrics "Sacúdete nena, twist and shouts, come on, come on, nena / Hasta que llores es mejor, es mejor" roughly translate to "Shake it girl, twist and shout, come on, come on, girl / It's better until you cry, it's better". The song urges us to forget our worries and allow ourselves to enjoy the moment. The lyrics "Y vos bailas tan bien, bailas tan bien / Y vos bailas tan mal, bailas tan mal / Baila un poquito mas cerca, conmigo hasta el final" translate to "You dance so well, you dance so well / You dance so badly, you dance so badly / Dance a little closer with me until the end". This suggests that the song is not just about dancing, but also about connecting with others and enjoying their company.
The upbeat and joyful melody of "Twist Y Gritos" matches the lyrics perfectly. The song is a fusion of ska, punk, rock, and Latin rhythms. Los Fabulosos Cadillacs were one of the pioneers of the Latin rock movement that emerged in the 1980s and 1990s. This song was a hit single off their album "El Satanico Dr. Cadillac" released in 1989.
