After a touring the Southern Cone in 1968, Los Gatos released their second LP, "Seremos Amigos" featuring a psychedelic rock sound. The band's third effort following a brief hiatus, 1969's Beat N°1, featured renowned guitarist Pappo as a new addition to the band's line up. His blues influence in contrast to Litto Nebbia's classic melodic approach made the album uneven, but created dazzling passages of music that could be considered the earliest recordings of progressive rock anywhere in the world, previewing the rise of the genre in the 70s.
In 1970, Los Gatos released their fourth album, originally titled "Rock de la Mujer Podrida", the band was forced to change it to "Rock de la Mujer Perdida" by the government censorship. It was Los Gatos's last release. Later that year, Pappo left the band to form his own blues rock group, Pappo's Blues. and Los Gatos disbanded.
In 2007, the band reunited for a short tour and a few special shows in their hometown of Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina.

Muchas horas dormí y soñé
Que tenia una mujer, que me hacia feliz
Y me daba su afecto y su amor
Mi ciudad no era igual, luces y gran color
Adornaban sus calles sin luz
La gente no era igual
Y su rostro corte
Ya no quiero soñar
No quiero recordar
Que mi vida siempre sera igual
Volver a trabajar
Volver a descansar
Y volver otra noche a soñar
Laralalala laralala laralalalaa
Ya no quiero soñar
No quiero recordar
Que mi vida siempre sera igual
Volver a trabajar
Volver a descansar
Y volver otra noche a soñar
Laralalala laralala laralalalaa
The lyrics of Los Gatos’s “Ya No Quiero Soñar” ("I Don't Want to Dream Anymore") depict an individual who feels trapped in a monotonous routine, wishing to escape reality through dreams. The song starts with the singer displaying exhaustion after a long day’s work, so he falls asleep quickly and has a dream where he is content with a lover. The dream seems to be the opposite of his reality, where he is happy, and the city is filled with lights and colors. When he woke up, however, he realized it was merely a fantasy, and he has to return to the same mundane life of working and sleeping.
The chorus repeats the phrase “Ya no quiero soñar” ("I Don't Want to Dream Anymore") six times, emphasizing the despair and helplessness the individual feels, acknowledging that they can't escape from the reality of the life they lead. It is evident that the cycle is repetitive and doesn't have any excitement. The song is expressing how people can become sleepwalkers in their lives, doing the same thing over and over each day, forgetting that there is more to life than "working and sleeping."
