1) Los Hermanos is a Brazilian band from the state of Rio de Janeiro, which mixes up indie rock with mpb and samba elements. The band members are Marcelo Camelo, Rodrigo Amarante (both guitars, lyrics and vocals), Bruno Medina (keyboard) and Rodrigo Barba (drums).

They recorded two demos that eventually found their way into the hands of Paulo André, the producer of the Abril Pro Rock festival, in Recife. The band was then invited to perform on one of the biggest alternative music festivals in Brazil, the Superdemo. Their self-titled album, released in 1999, became a huge seller on the back of the hit single Anna Julia. Two less financially successful albums, Bloco do Eu Sozinho (2001) and Ventura (2003), followed, changing the punk-rock that highlighted their debut effort to a softer, more laid-back style. Although those two albums did not sell as much as the first one, they consolidated the band as a cult; mainly because of their so-called clever lyrics and mixture of brazilian rhytmhs with rock. Their newest record, simply titled 4 (four), was released in August, 2005.

2) Los Hermanos is a division closely attached to the urban american underground techno movement "Underground Resistance". Each release has had its own distinct sound, concept and impact. Releases like "Quetzal" and the album "On Another Level" show urban melodic detroit techno on a different level.

Ói nós aqui
Ói nós aqui
Hollywood fica
Ali bem perto
Só não vê quem
Tem um olho aberto
Ói nós aqui
Ói nós aqui
Hollywood
É um sonho de cenário
Vi um pau-de-arara
Milionário
E eu que nem sonhava
Conhecer o tal Recife
Pobre saltimbanco
Trapalhão
Hoje sou mocinho
Sou vizinho do xerife
Dou rabo-de-arraia
Em tubarão
Ói nós aqui
Ói nós aqui
Tem de tudo
Nessa Hollywood
Vi um índio
Cheio de saúde
Ói nós aqui
Ói nós aqui
How do you do
Caruaru
I wanna see
Piripipi
Ói nós aqui
Ói nós aqui
Ói nós aqui
Camelôs, malucos
E engraxates
Aproveitem enquanto
O sonho é grátis
Quem há de negar
Que é bom dançar
Que a vida é bela
Neste fabuloso Xanadu
Eu só tenho medo
De amanhã cair da tela
E acordar
Em Nova Iguaçu
Ói nós aqui
Ói nós aqui
How do you do
Banabuiú
I wanna buy
O Paraguai
Hollywood
And me
Ói nós aqui (vixe!)
Los Hermanos's song "Hollywood", which is part of the album Superfantástico (Quando Eu Era Pequeno), is a nostalgic reflection upon the American film industry, which is considered to be the most influential and powerful in the world of cinema. The song begins with the line "Ói nós aqui," which means "Hey, look at us here," suggesting a sense of pride and excitement towards Hollywood. The following line "Hollywood fica ali bem perto, só não vê quem tem olho aberto," which translates to "Hollywood is right there, only those who are not paying attention cannot see," reinforces the idea that Hollywood is a place that can be easily accessed and admired by anyone who is open to it.
The lyrics continue with the line "Hollywood é um sonho de cenário, vi um pau-de-arara milionário," which means "Hollywood is a dream set, I saw a millionaire on a donkey cart." This line critically comments on the glamour and glitz of Hollywood while at the same time highlighting the contrasts and contradictions that exist within the film industry. The song progresses with the lines "Camelôs, malucos, e engraxates, aproveitem enquanto o sonho é grátis," which translates to "Hawkers, crazies, and shoeshine boys, enjoy the dream for free while you can." These lines suggest that Hollywood is not only a place of dreams but also of realities and does not discriminate against anyone who wishes to be a part of it.
