Con alas y con motor
Su fuerza levantó polvo
Que hasta la lumbre apagó
Con acento colombiano
Un saludo se escuchó
La mano de un mexicano
Un portafolio le dio
Varias pacas de a millón
"Se cierra el trato mi hermano
El polvo está en el avión"
"Viene en roca cristalina
La cantidad que ordenó
Si el mercado es exigente
Complacidos serán hoy
El cártel que la fabrica
Le ha estampado un escorpión"
Las trocas se achaparraron
Vació quedó el avión
De abrazo se despidieron
"Me saludas al patrón"
Y por su lado se fueron
El área sola quedó
Las huellas de aquellas llantas
El viento ya las borró
El desierto de Chihuahua
De todo esto se enteró
Miró elevarse el lucero
Y en el cielo se perdió
Lo curioso de la escena
Es que vestían color negro
Con iniciales doradas
De la cintura hasta el cuello
De todo esto no pregunten
Vive más quien sabe menos
The lyrics of Los Huracanes Del Norte's song La Estampa Del Escorpion tell a story of a drug deal happening in the desolate desert of Chihuahua. The opening line describes a shooting star, which turns out to be a plane carrying drugs. The characters in the story, a Colombian and a Mexican, greet each other and exchange money and drugs. The drug cartel producing the drugs uses a scorpion as their emblem, which is stamped onto the drugs.
The scene then ends with the Colombians leaving and the desert being the only witness to the events that took place. The final line of the song, "Vive más quien sabe menos," translates to "Those who know less, live more." This phrase suggests that sometimes ignorance can lead to a better, less dangerous life.
The tone of the song is dark and mysterious, fitting for a story about a drug deal in the desert. The lyrics provide insight into the dangerous world of drug trafficking and the harsh reality of the consequences it brings.
