¿QUÉ BORICUA NO HA CANTADO “EN MI VIEJO SAN JUAN”? En el Aniversario # 500 del Traslado de la Ciudad Capital RESALTAMOS al autor y a la canción que oficialmente se convirtió en el himno de la ciudad mas importante de Puerto Rico, (no podía ser otra).
__ nació un día como MAÑANA (4 de junio) hace 103 años en el hermoso pueblo de ISABELA, su nombre completo era NOEL ESTRADA SUÁREZ y se crió en San Juan; un gallito 100% ISABELINO adoptado como hijo de la Capital.
__ aunque la música fue su pasión; profesionalmente se desempenó por muchísimos años como Jefe de Protocolo y Etiqueta del Departamento de Estado de Puerto Rico.
__ compuso cientos de hermosas canciones pero la que lo catapultó a la fama tanto nacional como internacionalmente fue sin lugar a dudas: EN MI VIEJO SAN JUAN, convirtiéndolo en uno de los compositores + queridos y recordados de la nación.
__ la canción nace por una petición hecha por su hermano que se encontraba activo en el ejército (II Guerra Mundial) para calmar la enorme nostalgia que los soldados puertorriqueños estaban sufriendo por su país.
__ el famosísimo TRIO VEGABAJEÑO fueron los primeros en grabarla en 1943 (hace 78 años). Se convirtió de inmediato en un HIMNO para los boricuas en el extranjero, sobre todo en Nueva York y Chicago. Hoy es muy famosa a nivel mundial y un SÍMBOLO de Puerto Rico.
