Me Voy Pa'L Pueblo
Los Panchos Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Me voy pa'l pueblo
Hoy es mi día
Voy a alegrar toda el alma mía
Me voy pa'l pueblo

Me voy pa'l pueblo
Hoy es mi día
Voy a alegrar toda el alma mía
Me voy pa'l pueblo

Overall Meaning

Me voy pa'l pueblo by Los Panchos is a song about a man who works tirelessly and finally gets a day off to do what he wants. He is excited and decides to go to the village to have fun and make his soul happy. He sings that no matter how hard he works, he has never been able to go to a party. He then talks about his wife who doesn't like to dance and doesn't understand why. He then decides to leave his wife roasting corn in their hut and goes to the village to take a gallon and have fun. He tells her that when he comes back, the charcoal will be over.

The song has a deeper meaning than just a man who wants to have fun. It talks about the importance of having time for oneself after long working hours to relieve stress and be happy. Sometimes people work too hard and forget to enjoy life and do what they want. The lyrics are relatable to many working-class people who do not have the luxury of time to go out and have fun.

Me recuerda a mi padre amado.
