The lyrics of Los Paraguayos's song "Pajaro Chogui" tell the legend of a Guaraní Indian child who was climbing a tree when he heard his mother's cry and lost his balance, falling to his death. However, through some strange enchantment, he transformed into a chogüí bird in his mother's arms. The chogüí bird is the symbol of the child's transformation and now sings and flies away in the sky of Guaraní, disappearing into the horizon.
The song talks about how this legend lives on and is remembered every time the song of the chogüí bird is heard, a song that is cheerful and lively, much like the chirping of an orange tree bird who loves to hop and peck at oranges and repeat the song of "chogüí." The child's spirit lives on in the song of the chogüí bird, and his love for nature is expressed through the playful activity of the orange tree bird, who is like his spirit animal.
