The group's first single was "Corazón de Sandía", a summer hit from the first album "Mama Funk" with sixteen songs, released in 1995 under the EMI label. Two years later a second big hit "Cha cha cha" was released as a single, featuring Juan Sativo a rap artist from Chilean band Tiro de Gracia. Also in 1997 another album with fifteen songs, called "La Medicina", was released under the EMI Odeon label. This album is recognized by a lot of latin artists as one of the best latin-american funk works ever.
Los Tetas introduced a new member "Tata", who eventually took the place of Pepino on drums, but also made a huge impact on vocals and musical adjustments. With the participation of a lot of artists from local scene, such as Boomer (DJ and Raggamuffin), Zaturno and Juan Sativo from Tiro de Gracia and Anita Tijoux from Makiza, they made a solid and fun album with big influences from James Brown and Parliament funkadelic. Among the songs recorded in this perieod were "Papi... donde esta el Funk", "Bola Disco", "La Medicina" and "Primavera".
In 1998 after some dissagreements within the band, they dissolved, to reunit again in 1999 with a new formation: Tata (drums), Toly Ramirez Jr. (Bass), C-Funk (Guitar, keyboard and vocals) and Tea Time (scratch and vocals). With this band, they made their fourth album, "Independiente" containing ten songs. This album was edited and distributed by CAPITALUX Discos label. It wasn't as big a success as former albums, but they survive in the local scene with a lot of live gigs. They also made the transition to the north and begin to make some contacts to work in Mexico and USA.
In late of 2002 their last album "Tómala!", with 14 songs (including "I like", "Fiesta Funk", "Underground side" and "Sistemas"), made the band to take a huge jump to a lot of countries in Latin America, including Argentina, Perú, Bolivia, Colombia, Venezuela and especially México. They also started to perform in the USA. Later they shared the stage with Red Hot Chili Peppers in a concert at the Chilean Estadio Nacional.
In 2004 they dissolved for good, after one of the co-founder members C-Funk, decided to make the transition to a solo career. The remaining artists of the band changed the name to T-Funk and a few months after to FunkAttack, because C-Funk sued them for the similar name.

The lyrics to Los Tetas's song Hormigas Planas are a surrealist and cryptic commentary on the state of society and the struggles of the individual. The opening line, "Hormigas planas en un cuarto de mi casa el piso cae la fruta salvaje" (Flat ants in a room of my house the floor falls the wild fruit), seems to allude to the decay and stagnancy of suburban life, with flat ants being a metaphor for a society that has lost its sense of direction and purpose. The floor falling and the wild fruit could represent the chaotic and unpredictable nature of life outside of the comfort and conformity of society's structures.
The following lines, "ayúdame dame 1 minuto más se están comiendo tu habitación. El fuego negro nos cae en la piel el monstruo llora y tu sabes por qué" (Help me give me 1 more minute they are eating your room. The black fire falls on our skin the monster cries and you know why), continue this theme of decay and destruction, with the ants now becoming a symbol for the forces that threaten to consume and destroy us. The black fire on our skin and the crying monster could represent the psychological toll that societal pressures and expectations take on individuals.
