The lyrics to Celosa by Los Tres Reyes are about a relationship plagued by jealousy. The singer is pleading with their partner to stop being so jealous all of the time because it is wearing them down. They suggest that if the jealousy is based on love, it should be toned down and they should be allowed to live their life. The singer is frustrated, tired, and at their wits' end. They express their desire for their partner to leave them alone, backing up their argument by stating that they cannot live like this any longer. Towards the end of the song, the singer repeats their plea for their partner to leave and never return so that they can be rid of the constant jealousy and move on with their life.
The song was released in 1958 and has become a beloved classic in the Latin music world. It has been covered by many artists and remains popular to this day. It has also been used in movies and television shows, cementing its place in pop culture.
