Melancholy
Lost-Minded Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

Time is the undefined continuation of our lives

A succession of changes

So don't think too fast

Your ideas these perceptions of your soul
Are not always true stories

If reality and perfection

Are the same thing for you

Then your love, your desire

Cannot exist with doubts

About what you love

No don't be scared of time

No matter if there's nothing of us

Left after we die

We won't suffer from it

More than before our birth

The old man must learn to enjoy

The story of his own life

The young boy cannot be happy

Only the old one who lived well

Yes your life will still exist

Only if you remember it

So death is forgetness

A destruction of what you were

But though we're not eternal

Nothing will destroy the fact

That we existed

Overall Meaning

The song "Melancholy" by Lost-Minded is a contemplative reflection on the concept of time and its impact on our lives. The lyrics suggest that time is an undefined continuation of our lives - a succession of changes that we cannot predict or control. The artist advises against rushing through life and cautions that our perceptions may not always reflect reality. If we view reality and perfection as the same thing, then love and desire cannot coexist with doubt, as they demand true acceptance of imperfection.

The song also examines the inevitability of death and the afterlife. The artist suggests that there is no need to fear the fleeting nature of existence, as there will be nothing of us left after we die. However, the song encourages a focus on enjoying one's life story while still alive, learning to appreciate experiences, and living well to achieve happiness. The song suggests that, ultimately, the only thing that will remain after we die is the fact that we existed, and we must remember our lives to keep them alive.

Overall, "Melancholy" is a profound and reflective song that encourages listeners to slow down and appreciate their lives while living them fully. The song suggests that our temporary existence should not be a source of fear, but instead a motivation to make the most of the time we have.

Hello my lovelies! Here’s a new composition for you called ‘Eternal Melancholy’.

Your pale blue eyes, they haunt me
Through mists that roll over these dying lands,
The mists that seep into the ground, waking the dead.
Your rustling voice trespasses on my mind,
It creeps upon my skin,
Seeks refuge in my bones.
Your scent, it wanders, slithers on my tongue,
And trickles down into my silent throat
And now its air in my fiery lungs,
It fills my blood, invades my burning soul.
As far as eye can see,
There lies the mist
Of tender smoke, of wistful smile,
Of pearly gaze.
I’ll drown in your cold eyes and numbing kiss.
I know I won’t return from your embrace.

Ah, the golden mist of solitude that takes ones soul deep within its eternal hands...such is that in which i write poetry and your depiction sums it up perfectly.

Not to stray off the path too much but for the last 3 months I have been hearing a womans voice calling to me. I cant be the only who has heard...her

Well, speaking only for my self I found Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz and Pablo Neruda's work quite captivating. But I must say Edgar Allan Poe's will always have a special place in my heart along with others like Oscar Wilde and Shakespeare.
