Cry Little Sister
Lost Brothers (The) feat. G Tom Mac Lyrics

Jump to: Overall Meaning ↴  Line by Line Meaning ↴

'Thou shalt not kill.
Thou shalt not die.'

Cry!

Last fire will rise
Behind those eyes.
Black house will rock,
Blind boys don't lie.

Immortal fear,
That voice so clear.
Through broken walls,
That scream I hear.

Cry, little sister! (Thou shalt not fall)
Come, come to your brother! (Thou shalt not die)
Unchain me, sister! (Thou shalt not fear)
Love is with your brother! (Thou shalt not kill)

Blue masquerade,
Strangers look on.
When will they learn
This loneliness?

Temptation heat
Beats like a drum.
Deep in your veins,
I will not lie,

Little sister! (Thou shalt not fall)
Come, come to your brother! (Thou shalt not die)
Unchain me, sister! (Thou shalt not fear)
Love is with your brother! (Thou shalt not kill)

My Shangri-Las,
I can't forget
Why you were mine.
I need you now!

Cry, little sister! (Thou shalt not fall)
Come, come to your brother! (Thou shalt not die)
Unchain me, sister! (Thou shalt not fear)
Love is with your brother! (Thou shalt not kill)

Cry, little sister! (Thou shalt not fall)
Come, come to your brother! (Thou shalt not die)

Unchain me, sister! (Thou shalt not fear)
Love is with your brother! (Thou shalt not kill)

Overall Meaning

The song "Cry Little Sister" by Lost Brothers (The) feat. G Tom Mac is a haunting and dramatic track with provocative lyrics that conjure up a sense of danger and fear. The verses feature eerie and unsettling imagery like "Last fire will rise / Behind those eyes" and "Immortal fear / That voice so clear" that suggest impending doom. The repeated command of "Cry, little sister!" sounds almost predatory, urging someone vulnerable to give in to their fears and cry out for help.

The chorus lyrics, "Thou shalt not fall / Thou shalt not die / Thou shalt not fear / Thou shalt not kill", are a clear reference to the Ten Commandments, particularly the commandments that prioritize the sanctity of life and prohibit murder. By invoking these commandments, the song adds a religious and moral dimension to its themes of fear and desperation.

Overall, "Cry Little Sister" is a powerful and provocative song that taps into primal fears and emotions. It speaks to the darkness and danger that we all face in life, and urges us to cling to our moral values and seek hope and support from those we love.

Thanks for all the comments on my song CRY LITTLE SISTER, I will always be partial to MY original version in original Lost Boys movie, however as an artist it's always challenging to take my music in a new direction. Cheers everyone. G Tom Mac aka Gerard McMann writer & singer of Cry little sister.

@kathall6422

Your music and The Lost Boys will always remind me of my wonderful teen years. I listened to your song so much throughout my life, thee original version as I've never seen part 2. Never seen it because Corey Feldman made it so Corey Haim got booted from the movie, not your fault. Anyway thank you for the wonderful and awesomesauce music you have provided for me and now my child. You are one of the greats. Peace and much love sent from Ontario, Canada.
