Lost Witness are DJ / Producer Simon Paul and producer Simon Kemper. The dynamic duo met and formed in May 1998 as Dusk Til Dawn and enjoyed the underground success of Fine Night, which in turn brought songwriter Ed Barton into the frame as the third, if more silent member, to complete the happy union.
Vocals of the early hits 'Red Sun Rising' and 'Did I Dream (Song to the Siren)' were supplied by Tracy Carmen.
Paul & Kemper have both experienced similar musical upbringings with Paul's parents heavily influenced by big band and jazz while Kemper's pursued and continue to pursue the opera. Simon Paul has been actively DJing for 14 years, following the peaks and troughs of house music which has inevitably shaped the way he produces. Simon Kemper has been equally molded by keeping himself up to date with his clubbing experiences in and around London. The fusion of both has culminated in a plethora of musical, vocal trance anthems.
Did I Dream
Lost Witness Lyrics

I did all my best to smile
'Til your singing eyes and fingers
Drew me loving into your isle
And you sang
Sail to me...
Sail to me and let me enfold you...
Were you here when I was forsoke?
Did I dream, you dreamed about me?
Broken lovelorn on your rocks...
Did I dream, you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was forsoke?
Did I dream, you dreamed about me?
Broken lovelorn on your rocks...
Did I dream, you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was forsoke?
Did I dream, you dreamed about me?
Broken lovelorn on your rocks...
Did I dream, you dreamed about me?
Were you here when I was forsoke?
Did I dream, you dreamed about me?
Broken lovelorn on your rocks...
These lyrics from Lost Witness's song "Did I Dream" paint a picture of a person lost at sea, feeling isolated and alone until they come across someone who draws them in with their music and loving presence. The first verse describes the individual as being adrift on "shipless oceans," likely a metaphor for feeling lost and aimless in life. They try to maintain a smile, but it's not until they encounter the person with "singing eyes and fingers" that they truly begin to feel alive again.
The chorus, while repetitive, is also poignant. It features the singer questioning whether their encounter with this person was real or just a dream. There's a sense of longing and heartbreak in these lyrics as they wonder if this person was really there for them or if they were just imagining it. The last line, "broken lovelorn on your rocks," is particularly striking. It suggests that even though the singer was able to find brief respite with this person, they were ultimately left feeling broken and alone once again.
Overall, "Did I Dream" is a beautiful and introspective song that touches on themes of loneliness, love, and the elusive nature of human connection. It suggests that even when we feel lost and alone, there's always the possibility of finding someone who can bring us back to life, even if only temporarily.

@DJ Lifted AndreaS I didnβt realize it till way later that Tiesto never really produced his tracks except for a very few. Iβm not saying he was a bad artist, he always had amazing remixes.

One phrase - Vengeance - Song to the Siren.
Some of us may remember "Lost Witness - Song to the Siren (Fable Mix)" There was never a Fable mix of this, by coincidence two producers Fable and Lost Witness produced a track with the same song at almost the same time.
In 2002 Conception UK lost patience and released it as Vengeance - Song to the Siren with Claire Pearce on vocals. Lost Witness' version is from Tracey Carmen who was also the vocalist in Happiness Happening, Red Sun Rising and 7 Colours -- those three vocals appeared on the Ed Barton's Hush Accapellas CD.
